so i was curious why and looked

The whole RE5 is racist thing has been going on for the past... well ever since the first trailer was shown.

I mean for christ sakes. Who cares. The game takes place in Africa.
Nobody even notices in Japanese horror games, most of the time it's a white guy or girl in the game. Sure there's been other games that have Japanese main characters like the Fatal Frame franchise, and Siren, but when you think of horror games, usually RE and Silent Hill pop out in your mind. Fatal Frame though didn't really scare me because to me it was like the Halloween version of Pokemon snap.

Also RE5 is made in Japan, so saying the game is racist doesn't really work for Capcom. Now if you were playing as a Japanese guy, then I could see it looking a lil awkward, but in this case no.

Black folks have barely been in video games, but whenever they are in one someone complains.  Plus Biohazard 5 has a black woman name Sheva in it too.  Overall I think that N'Gai Croal is an idiot who whines about racism and gives us a bad name.  On one newsweek he said that video game companies do not put many black characters in their games and then when BH5 preview is shown, he says that the imagery is classic racism.  He always whines about nonracism things while real racism is not being covered because everyone looks at us as whiners.

Well if that did happen no one would say anything because new york is not a foreign land with only whites... New york is full of all types of races. I think the main character should of been african since its in Africa, I mean once u think about it. A white guy commin from America to afrcia to commit genocide

well RE4 lost the essence of RE games and and i really didn't like the angry villagers idea to begin with..the game wasn't bad but it wasn't a RE game...RE4 reminded me or RE dead aim tho
yet again they seem to be doing it again with the angry african tribes story line.
imo these ideas are very medicore and not scary at all for a horror game....it would be better if they change it altogether cus they are messing RE up.
i don't think it's raciest but i think they ran out of ideas for RE games or maybe got bored with the zombie concept.

RE4 is about Zombies too, just a different virus, the "angry villagers" were zombies. Same with RE5, more zombies, only this time the virus got to Africa. I know there's more to it but just wanted to clear that up.

yeah i know they were kinda zombies underneath with a virus and all "more like aliens than zombies imo" still the villagers didn't create the RE feel...it looked more like if they were some aggressive ppl who don't want leon to interfere with whatever they were doing or how they lived in that village.
as far as what sells they have to release it to see whether it's going to sell or not so they have to try their luck with these new ideas.
i don't think that gamers will ask for villagers or tribes instead of zombies in a RE game...RE4 felt like an x files game or something...seems the same in RE5 imo

I think the reason RE4 didn't have that survival horror feel is because the enemies drop health and weapon items. When I played SH5 the gameplay was similar to RE4 being that it broke from the whole camera stage thing, and it had more of an action feel, but the enemies in SH5 never dropped items. You'd always be left to find health items in a random dark and danky room or something. If RE5 were to do that, I think it would give the horror feel a bit of a jump start. In most horror games I'm always praying to get to a health item before another monster.

I think the most interesting part of RE5 is going to be the story. Ever since I saw the last 2 trailers, I've been awaiting for it's release.

I do hope they get back to their roots and this time it feels like RE, I agree RE4 aproach was more towards the action, and didnt like enemies droping items either, breaks the mood seeing all those flashing things laying around.

On the other hand, its not hard to make a game FEEL like its predecessors, with new and exciting things, and not "just another one" in the series. The line is really thin.

well the thing is only few people survived the t-virus from new york
leon, chris redfield, rebecca chambers, jill valentine, that dude that was helping rebecca
and i think what the concept is they left new york to africa
because they probably thought they could get away from the t-virus and zombies by going to a new country
but they were wrong making it where they have to deal with even more zombies
but this is what i think the concept of this is so idk if this is what truly happens =\
