[Hi-Res Stage] Zodiac Nexus, plus all of my past stages hosted!
« on: November 07, 2008, 12:43:12 AM »
It's been awhile, but I've finally gotten around to making a new stage! Hi-res this time, with plenty of animation. I know the pillars aren't that great, and I'm working on finding some new ones. If I do, I'll release an update for this one. As always, C&C is welcome.

Name: Zodiac Nexus
Resolution: Hi-res
Super Jump: Yes
Animated: Yes
Music: Of course!

Now available for download at my new-ish Freewebs site, under "High-Res Stages":
http://www.freewebs.com/iburner

Also available through Mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/?2yhzd0mwqjm

Additionally, all of my previously released stages are now hosted at my site as well:

Dream Horizon:

Hall of Souls:

Crystalline Dimension:

On Top of the Hancock:

Twilight Shrine [Hi-Res]:

Temple in the Clouds:

Yeah, those did come from your sprite pack, with some minor editing. i might use them in something else down the road, but they just don't quite work in a hi-res setting.

And thanks everyone for encouragement!

Do you mean for reducing color loss, or for re-coloring sprites?

It all depends on the sprites and the effect I'm going for. For color loss, I first convert images to 8-bit with Graphics Gale (it seems to do a better job at this than my other programs). If it looks like @$$, I'll try RGB method. If that doesn't work, I either decide if I can live with color loss, or put it aside for the day I finally try using the Jigsaw method. I do any other editing in an old version of Corel Photo Paint.

For recoloring sprites, I usually just use "Replace Colors" in Photo Paint, or I'll manually edit the palette, depending on what I'm trying to do.

Well, this tut is where I started learning about it: http://www.mugen-infantry.net/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=7ogftf8pnlmqipj9kjqhuoofs6&topic=96925.msg788349;boardseen#new
From there, I've just been experimenting.
