Acey and others, are you guys playing on having intros with other chars such as maybe Superman, Wonderwoman? Maybe even Scorpion or Sub-Zero due to the fact that MK vs DC is coming out soon.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion would stand a better chance of being approved by their respected creator(s), as for Superman and Wonder Woman, she'd have to take it up with Loganir, Hannibal, and team, from the DCvM forum. Loganir seems to be on vacation and Hannibal is barely on due to personal reasoning.

Hey,
Congrats on the release, and I don't want to be nitpicky but the Batman in the bottom left corner seems to be anatomically incorrect in comparison to one he's fighting. I'd slim it down myself, but I'm busy with school, so maybe during the Christmas Holidays.

-Turbanator

PS- Thanks Acey for fixing that credit issue up
I don't know about the bottom left Batman, but the bottom right Batman seems a bit odd.. The right leg isn't aligned to the other leg (and the opponent's legs for that matter), he also has a strange look of his face but maybe that's just me. :-??

For some reason when I play Mugen, Batman is the only character that slows down my computer. None of my Melty Blood characters slow my computer down, and they have about 2000 sprites, and Batman has about 1500 if I remember correctly :-w

I think you have to keep in mind there were several spriters involved, so there are definately some size, and variance difference on the sprites. Some are too small, some heads are too big, ect. The only way its going to be 100% consistant is if the same person draws them all.

Thats just part of the fun of the project. It was something differant, and with an early beta its perfectly normal, and anytime theres an all together project, I think this will be the norm. :-??

The effects are in hi res, including BG effects, and they have transparencies in some moves, so is logical the slowdown, this kind of stuff adds extra procesing tme for mugen in your CPU... is normal. Unless you got a 6 Ghz quad core procesor...

See ya!!! :D

Maybe your processor can handle better extensive works and math operations, some new models of Core 2 Duo (Intel) and Turion X2 (AMD) have no issues with this type of processing works. Also depends on the system memory you got for your PC, DDR2 - 800 Mhz Memories are the minimal recommended (of course, if your Motherboard and processor supports that) and 1 GB of RAM. Take in Mind that this reqs are for WinMUGEN + or HI RES, because normal mugen doesn't take as much resources, just because stages and select screen aren't procesed in high res "forced" mode.
In my case just 1 move offers slowdown to my semprom 3400 + processor and 512 MB RAM system, the "I'm Batman" move (the one wich grabs the oponent) because of the final flame effect, everything else goes through 60 - 55 FPS.

And yes, I don't know about another Batman, but this one is the best I've seen by now... I doubt that scruffy people can do something similar, the only great chars from DC I've seen from them are Wonder Woman and Etrigan... and maybe SuperBoy, but nothing else, the others aren't too bad, but AI needs a LOT of polishing (they have infinite priority in 40% of the moves they got so far...)

Keep on the good work, as I said before, concentrate the most on the sprites, so you can code easily and without being worried about cosmetic fixes.

See ya!!! :D

P.D. @Acey - Is the team still working on the voices?

I tested out this Batman and i have to say that he pretty good nice sprites, like the intros very creative hypers and special moves and whats up with the 183 hit smoke bomb... :DxDie One thing i noticed is he is in the need of sounds well i might be able out in that department i have 2 Batman games for Xbox, Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu and Dark Tomorrow or Vengeance, so I'll rip sounds from those games and upload it on my site.

you'd be better off talking to Kal-Elvis than Hannibal, Kal kinda took over the project. but I agree with Reza I think that smoke-bomb hyper should go maybe a hyper with the batmobile or "batpod" or batplane .......

Actually I think that's a little hard on the SD team. I agree with the hit priority in palces but such small issues are hardly something to deny the rest of their characters from the "great" status.

We're still looking for voices. Batman is far from finished.

You can't please everyone :-?? But I agree, Batman has at least another 2 necessary Hypers to be sprited and coded in someday. People are still submitting material for Bats which is great news.

I have a mic...not sure how good I'd be as Batman but I can try the voice if you like? I also offered to do the voice for Hagger but it seems you haven't gotten back to me on that.

in the end it's what you guys want but imo you don't need a smoke-bomb hyper is you have a smoke-bomb special & Jason that looks great is that all from scratch?

Gentlemen,

I'm sorry I wasn't able to post these voice samples before Batman was released. Here they are, mp3s, and the remix of the animated series intro I'd promised. I'm still learning what my PC can do, so I hope Acey and the rest of you can use this stuff. If needed I got more Batman stuff that can be used.

Here's the voice samples. On the 6 minute one, you'll hear him go "TOO EASY!!!" and "I am Vengence." at around the 4:10 mark or so.:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GLS8B1OF

And now the remixed music. Mind you the track is 9 mintues and I tried for high quaility. Good for survival mode, etc...:

Sorry if you hate megaupload though.
