Question about videos

Hi there!!!

I'm trying to get involved into making videos and showing some stuff I have, the best tutorials I'm using are located here at this forum, are really useful.

By now I'm recording with HyperCam 2.14.02 and compressing with Windows Movie Maker 2.1 (Windows XP Default version), everithing goes just fine, almost full fps, and even I can edit some extra stuff. My question here goes as follows: Is it normal that, if I compress the video with the setting "High quality video (small)" (Is about 4:40 Mins) it goes from 300 Mb into 98 MB? Do you get the same size with that setting? Xvid and other codecs compress a lot... (a 1 Min video in WMM is about 20 MB and XVID does 8 MB O_O) the problem is that the video looks a lot pixelated and is quite odd and ugly... with the setting I use in WMM has excelent quality (at least for me) but is a bit large in MB size (I guess).

Again... Is this normal? Is the size you get when using this seting in WMM? or is there any alternative to get decent quality and reasonable size?
