Dragon ball calls reshoot...fans voices herd

Less than three weeks after the outing of its teaser trailer, "Dragonball" is said to be heading back in front of the camera for some reshoots. On the matter, DbtheMovie has uncovered that Actors Access has posted an October 17 casting notice for the live-action adaptation movie, seeking for Tibetan and Nepalese actors.

It is still unclear whether the reshoots scheduled on October 30 will be used for additional scenes and/or retakes. But in the casting notice displayed by DbtheMovie, it can be seen that the casting director is looking for actors between the ages of 20 to 70 and are fluent in Nepalese or Tibetan. The 20th Century Fox have yet to release any confirmation or denial related to the reshoots report.

On other "Dragonball" news, DragonballLegends has come out with a report that the theatrical trailer of the James Wong-directed action fantasy is targeted to be released on December 12. It further speculated that the trailer may be attached to "The Day the Earth Stood Still" since it will hit the U.S. theaters on the particular date.

Adapting Akira Toriyama's famous Japanese manga of the same name, "Dragonball" focuses its story on Goku and his journey in finding Master Roshi and preparing himself to protect the seven mystical dragonballs from evil's hands. Produced by Stephen Chow, it stars Justin Chatwin, Chow Yun-Fat, James Marsters, Emmy Rossum, Eriko Tamura, Joon Park, Jamie Chung and many others. It will come out in the U.S. on April 10, 2009"

"Dragonball is going back in front of the camera. The project has already been blackjacked by its own fans for reasons ranging from where it's focusing the story to the casting of Justin Chatwin as Goku to the skin tone of Lord Piccolo. And apparently, the people the trailer needed to impress weren't impressed. So did Fox go back to the drawing board?

Dragonball The Movie has tracked down a casting call from Actors Status saying that producers are looking for Tibetan- and Nepalese-speaking actors for a shoot that begins on October 30th. This can only mean one thing: They're looking for Tibetan- and Nepalese-speaking actors!

Look, there are a lot of people who kind of want this thing to fail. Purists don't want a live-action movie giving a half-assed effort while Hollywood cynics root for a lot of adaptations to fail because they think the studios should nurture more original ideas. And when you see the material from the film - whether it's in a trailer or in production photos - it doesn't look all that good, so news like this just adds to the feeding frenzy.

Who knows: Maybe the reshoots will make the movie better"
.

well looks like we the fans might actually get what we want out of a movie... :-SS

They failed the first time, they'll fail again. Dragonball is simply not something you can adapt to live-action. Now, if it was all CG'd...

 :D

This is what happens when you hire a bunch of people that look nothing like the characters they play.

They should recast goku and have Pearl from the Landlord on funnyordie.com to play as him.  Then, they should have piccolo blue just to pee off the fans.
