I HATE when things like this happen, it wont be the same without him...

Don Cheadle replaces Howard as the new actor portraying War Machine.

i think that the movie people could not give him as much as they said they would. though with don, there will definitely be more comedy. :-)

If I was him, I wouldn't have even done it for the money.
Acting as War Machine is more of a privilege then a job.

Sucks that he turned it down, he was perfect for the character.

Actors dont care about comics and sh*t like that. If they did, we wouldnt have so many bad comic book/video game/cartoon/anime based movies out.

yeah michal Jai WHite would be perfect for it. and his voice fits the part more than the other guy. And his build on his body makes him a perfect candidate because the guy who is warmachine sure isnt a skinny mofo without any muscles.

I honestly think Don Cheadle would be more perfect for the role... but I honestly think he will need to get buff more for this role... he is just too skinny... great actor... but TOO DAM SKINNY!

but what a great mix of comedy from Robert Downey Jr. & Don Cheadle! COME ON! THAT'S AWESOME!

Like I said... all Cheadle needs to do is hit the gym more often, and he'll be perfect for the role, in my opinion.

It definitely sux when known 'chars' get replaced... My best example is the Punisher revamp but only cause I enjoyed the Thomas Jane version....jury's still out on the new one

Allegedly, whatever Terrance Howard said.... it came down to $$$$.
Not that I can blame him..(well i can his agents atleast..... Mr. Terrance H. just released an R&B album recently, and between that, and an Oscar Nom, obviously his peeps are in full throttle askin for a lot of $.)

The real problem is regardless of Terrance Howard is the amount of related movies expected to be released in a very narrow time frame...>Captain America(WWII apparently)/2009-->-Iron Man II(New War Machine obviously)/2010---Thor/2010, and then The Avengers/2011!
Now, Jon Favrau,Favre,Faverou whatever! did a great job with IronMan, and I have little doubt he'll do as good a job with part II, regardless of who plays Rhodey (as long as Downey JR is involved of course)... One of the biggest obstacles I see is who ever directs these other 'Avenger-Themed' movies, that are slated SO close together, may fumble the whole "comics-to-film-franchise's". Which hopefully is not the case but most can agree:
X-men, X-men II=pretty good
X-men III= Still good from a fan perspective..only
Daredevil= ugggghhh!! Ben Afflec's best gig was in "Smokin' Aces" AFTER he was killed and that guy was working his mouth!!
Hulk #1... I thought sucked... haven't seen#2 yet... although I love the idea at the end of recent Marvel movies, they cross the lines.
Ironman-Loved it!
The Spidey's- Loved most of them, (Bruce Cambell rules too and I hope the Mysterio rumors come true with him) but I didn't really 'dig' Venom, and God forbid a Carnage sequel.

Instead of rushing all these great potential movies... they should cement a director or two from previous flics, to either individually, or cooperatively develop the best possible films ever...right?
