Yes this will be interesting. Personally, I agree that the Mugen "rules" have gotten way out of hand. I used to play a game called Jedi Academy, and there very talented people too would make excellent maps, skins and mods, and other idiots would take those, modify them and repost them on JK3files (pretty much all files ever go there because it is THE warehouse). The only difference is that the players in JA knew that crap was crap and that even if an awesome work was mutated into a grotesque knockoff, the original was all that mattered, because in a week's time, no one would remember the knockoff. Off course lately, different, separate rules on online gameplay have completely killed that game....

well i have been into mugen only for 2-3 months so i don't know everything.

Indeed. This could be very interesting indeed.

I like the new policies on there, but you know, I gotta ask...where are the old guard, advocating the rights of creators and such, and what their opinion on this is.

If they all agreed on this, then good. Everything's gone so horribly out of control recently, it's not funny.

Here's my theory on this...

With the possible Sword of Damocles that is Elecbyte's imminent return and all the coding everyone's done so far to be practically being obsolete with the brand-new version of MUGEN, they might have thought, hey f**k it, why would we listen to everyone else bitching about ZOMG MY STUFF STOLEN CREDIT CREDIT PERMISSION CREDIT OR I GO PRIVATE BLAH BLAH when it's all going to be obsolete sooner or later?

Either way, it's a huge shift. The outlook's good now, but you never know what the old guard are going to think about it.

Very interesting. The Guild, like it or not, is the standard setter throughout the community. All of our forums are essentially a copy of theirs with looser/tighter/stricter rules and a different look and name and staff. This will cause forums to talk and discuss things and I can't wait to see how this pans out.
