This is why I follow reviews of games from video game mags.

The feeling was that it was pretty much repetitive and that the abilities and their usage weren't executed properly.

I tend to avoid Star Wars games unless they're, like, some kind of space shooter.  And even then, they're not entirely my thing...

Well God Of War was a rip off of a bunch of other games.
Like the quick action button sequences, every single time a new game uses that, GOW gets credit for it, which is bs because Shenmue did it back in the late 90's.

In the end all games nowadays pretty much rip off of various games from the late 80's to early 2000's.

I don't think any one person can make an entire game.
Games usually take divisions of people that are talented at things. Also a lot of games get changed from the original creators thoughts from game testers. One of these games is Fable 2.
What happened was originally the director planned to make the game so you could have kids then when you're character dies, you play as your child, however they took this out because they found out the game testers were using the kids to farm extra lives, and decided instead to make the main character never die and just pass out.

Back in the 70's-early 90's it would take just a small handful team. Now, the credits in games are as long as movie credits.
I think Hideo Kojima had a masterpiece story with the Metal Gear series, because everything just fit so well and I can't help but think he planned the entire series like this since he made the first game. The gaming world needs more people like Kojima who can make games more innovative and relative to the style of the game. The problem with a lot of games now is replay value. For an example, there's not that many people who are going to go back and play MK Deadly Alliance because it's sequels are advanced. I just think it's odd that after I've beaten MGS4 ten times, all the other games I've played are starting to collect dust. GTA4 I played for a week, after beaten, there's not much replay value. Halo 3, I played for a few days, the only time I replayed it was to get the skulls.
The thing about games now is that brand new you shell out 60$ for them. 70-80$ if they're special editions.
The thing is, all that cash really adds up by the end of the year, and then in the end your wishing 90% of those games had more replay value, or were a lot cheaper.

I never got into God of War because it really seemed like a badly done mix of DMC, Shenmue, and Hercules with a recolored Deadly Alliance Quan-Chi as the main character. I don't even really care for Greek God type stuff anyway so it's kind of hard for me to approach that game.

Well, damn...I played the PS2 version of the game, and I freaking loved it.  I thought the action was pretty good.  I managed to plug six hours into the game, and I didn't beat it.  I didn't die that often either.  ;)

To each their own.

ive been wanting to play this game since i played as the apprentice in SC4 i wanted to know more about him, and too be quite honest i found this game really really fun, the sith ending was kinda strange considering it was a time paradox but then getting the jedi ending it all made sence. i really liked it, i dont know why keep bad mouthing this game. @^@

i guess just mainly cause it was really quick to finish, and barely if not no replay value at all.

I think the problem is that the game's short play time and repetitive gameplay do not warrant its price tag.  It ends up being a lot of flash with little substance.  If you have money to blow, flash is nice.  But if you have to be picky about the games you buy, then this is not worth the price.

well isnt DMC and GoW the same thing? all you do is unlock maybe 2 new costumes and get maybe like one special mode but people consider it replayable all the time. i dont see any diffrence between them and Force Unleashed, im mean you get to see how all the stuff in Ep4 A New Hope was established like i always wondered how and why the rebel alliance came to be and what became of Jar Jar. It had alot of stuff explained in it with an okay story. i dont see why they just didnt make it into a movie in the first place all the fans have been begging for a 7th movie.
