Whats happend to Nerds?

Now... it saddens me to say thatI think im the last of this kind of nerd. Im a dieing breed, now nerds are "good looking" and have good bodys, what ever happend to the classic overwight frame that the nerds of old typicaly had.

Nerds were the classic overweight frame? When I think of nerds, I think skinny guys with zero muscles . Most of the classic TV nerds were skinny (Steve Urkle, Screech, etc). Revenged of the Nerds movies never really had the fat guy . Now if you're going with the Comic Book nerd, yea those guys are heavy set and all that stuff. When I think nerd, I think computer people .

That could also be location based and whatnot. Out here if you were skinny, then everyone liked you, and you tended to get to hang out with "cooler" people, but if you were overweigt  you were shuned allot by the other kids..

i was shunned by of ppl till i started straighting my hair wearing make up skinny jeans piercings and what not girls liked it

and i was asked to hang out with most of the trendy in crowd scenesters but it means nothing 2 me any more

Not dying, more like progressing. I really think what this topic is about is how it's become harder to identify said 'nerds'. I blame it on things like Halo 3 and Spiderman movies for all the mainstreaminess.

Hmmmm I am just saying from what TV has shown me what a "nerd" is. I can name many examples of nerds in movies and TV that have been skinny. Comic Book nerds, tend to be the heavy set guy like the comic book guy on the Simpsons. Most of the things nerds liked are now popular or way more accepted then they once more. Also look at the pre-90s. Were there comic book movies coming out left and right? Were computers everywhere?  Was anime well known? IMO as long as you don't seem "weird" to todays kids and stuff, you can like just about anything. You could be a dungeons and dragons guy and I bet most people today would not make fun of you for the most part. The only people who would tease you, would be friends who aren't into it. People in today's world are more accepting than they use to be. There was a time when of people would look at you weird and stuff cause you watched porn, not today . of guys are open about it and most people today are like "heh guys watch porn and?" It is a good time for nerds everywhere .

nerd. Never Ending Radical Dude....thats what we call ourselve. spider as someone 50 lbs overweight i shrre your nostalgia. us fat hairy pimply nerds who dungeon dwell in our basements are a dying breed. rechnology finally got "cool" so jocksa and the good looking guys find it worth it to evolve. i miss our legion of the ugly and the brainy
