Whats happend to Nerds?

Computers, video games, and comic heros all became widley popular.

Consuming large unhealthy amounts of media is what became possible.

Hold on, I gotta check my RSS feeds while aggregating my podcasts and emailing on my phone.

As technology increases our culture has to assimilate that.

Also, your forgetting the distinction between the nerd and geek.

Used to be that it was an insault that jocks would call us for being weird/smart. We were overweight, living with our parents, the only women giving us the time of day are eather crazy or want money...

Now... it saddens me to say thatI think im the last of this kind of nerd. Im a dieing breed, now nerds are "good looking" and have good bodys, what ever happend to the classic overwight frame that the nerds of old typicaly had.
And what is it with all the hot girlfirends. I mean come on... Share the weath guys...

Its true, im the last of the old nerd class... and now, now we see main streem nerds, nerds with hotchicks, tatoos, and homes of their own...

Whats the world coming too...

Hmm well I do got a 3 year set of Shonen Jump (Been missing out on a few books though), I play Yu-Gi-Oh still (Egyptian deck <3) , I play video games, I watch anime still, I'm 173 lbs, Does that count as somewhat nerd? xD

I'm both of them. All my life until I started college I had obscure interest labeled age inappropriate. E.G.: I liked reading about WWII instead of watching kid soap operas.

Nerds were the classic overweight frame? When I think of nerds, I think skinny guys with zero muscles . Most of the classic TV nerds were skinny (Steve Urkle, Screech, etc). Revenged of the Nerds movies never really had the fat guy . Now if you're going with the Comic Book nerd, yea those guys are heavy set and all that stuff. When I think nerd, I think computer people .

That could also be location based and whatnot. Out here if you were skinny, then everyone liked you, and you tended to get to hang out with "cooler" people, but if you were overweigt  you were shuned allot by the other kids..
