Sabretooth (Updated: 11/16/2007)
« on: August 11, 2007, 11:56:44 AM »

Go grab him at Mugen History (http://www.mugenhistory.com) (Characters -> Capcom)

Note's:
-----------------
Setting the level of the AI:

Open sabre.cns and look for this line "sparkno = 2", the 2 is the level of the AI, Change
that number to the desired AI Level

0 - No AI
1 - Easy
2 - Normal
3 - Hard
4 - Tough
5 - Random Levels(1-2)
6 - Random Levels(1-3)
7 - Random Levels(2-3)
8 - Random Levels(1-4)

Any value above 8 will set sabretooth at "Tough", for the "Random Levels" the AI will be randomly
chosen between the listed AI Level's at the start of each round....

Example:
If your AI level is set to 6 (Random Levels(1-3)), at the start of each round the AI level
will be set at either Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3.

I think everything is fine except two things.

- The hyper portrait, but I'm sure you already know that.
- His move where he calls out Birdie is nothing like it is in the game. First, it's supposed to go in three different directions depending on the kick button you press. And second, the super version has many more bullets on screen.

It's funny, at the time of release i thought that no one would give a damn about this character. Since it seems that people are digging the new style I gave him it's time for me to complete him.

What's coming:
-The move where he slams his opponent's head into the ground (for about 3 times)
-Adding in DededeEn's hyper portriat

And here's your chance to make your way into his credits:

What i'm looking for:
-A good VS portrait for him (that isn't stolen, and converted to 256 colors)
-More pallet's, there is room for 5 more and it is tough to create some good looking pallet's for this guy
-If your a spriter that is willing to create a new move (or moves) for him I am all ear's (he could use another hyper)... I can program anything so let your imagination run wild.

If anyone is interested you can either submit your entries here or get in touch with me via pm...

I would love to see the Birdie striker updated to something more traditional.

was it supposed to be an actual attack that you did? there some button combo for it? it's kinda cool like it is, but if there's some button combo to do that same, then ok

First I would like to commend you on an excellent creation, this is by far the best Sabertooth I have played ;)

However there is the following:

Critique/suggestion: When Sabertooth does his second hyper (the wild fang combo move?) I think it would give the char a lot more depth if you added more sound (you know fighting screams and such), like he has in the original. And I think the animation/combo for the move itself is just a tad to fast, maybe you could slow it down just a little?

Critique/Question: How come all of your character has such boring/dull hit sound effects, when you play them and they execute good looking combos it really doesn’t give of the right impact? I really think that this hurts your creations a lot, which is a shame since they are so skilfully made and excellent to play ;)

Hmm, i agree with Sgt Hartsock the char is really good and the quality of the sounds are well done. Anyways this is the best sabertooth i have played on mugen, keep it up man. ;)
