The one year anniversary is here at last. Its been a long while since Kikyo's first public release, all as the result of boredom due my comp not working properly, but good enough to rip her sprites and start coding her. Well, here she is. Happy 1-year anniversary Lady Kikyo!
- Future updates will now include tags for specific updates done to Normal Kikyo or Metal Kikyo. If the update affects both, no tag will be denoted.
- Kikyo's combo limit abolished. It turns out that Kikyo does have a theoretical infinite in the game of origin, not including damage dampening.
- Kikyo's damage dampening changed to that of Capcom Fighting Jam. Purification is now subject to both this damage dampening as well as the 40% damage decrease from its standalone version.
- Kikyo's Air Throw now performs wallslam.
- Adjusted some required sprites.
- Purification's damage slightly decreased. This was a result of Purification now being affected by damage dampening. Alone, the move now deals 95 damage total (instead of 100).
- Hyper Background changed back to blue like in game of origin, but with a modified feel to it. The win portrait background still utilizes the orange background.
- [Normal] Kagome & Inuyasha Double Attack damages increased, & now subject to damage dampening.
- [Normal] Normal Kikyo now gets up almost immediately after hitting the ground when knocked down.
- [Normal] Striker Select screen completely redone. CvS groove select sound added plus character dialog for the selected striker for both english and japanese soundpacks included.
- [Normal] Double Attack mechanics changed. You can select a striker for the Double Attack only during the first round and will carry over between rounds. You can no longer change strikers between rounds. In addition, the Double Attack now uses its own gauge instead of Kikyo's main power bar. This is mostly an accuracy fix, but it does make the Double Attacks easier to pull off, but can only be used a maximum of 3 consecutive times (As opposed to 6 consecutive times in the older versions).
- [Normal] Win quotes and dialogue box for winquotes changed. The box now resembles that used the Megaman Zero games.
- [Normal] Double Attacks no longer use the Super Special background animation and sound. The screen now fades to black like in the original game, and the character will scream out.
- [Normal] Win portrait changed.
- [Normal] Kagome Double Attack reverted back to the way it was before version 2.2
- [Normal] The camera no longer follows staggering opponents (as a result of Kikyo's Guard Counter & Double Attacks)
- [Normal] Double Attacks now require a full Team Gauge (3 bars) to be comboed into. Using the move by itself only costs 1 bar.
- [Metal] Metal Kikyo no longer displays winquotes.
In addition, I've decided to make Kikyo open source, so do what you want with her.
