How come I never knew about this? Did this just never air on tv or something? Or was it a early 90's cable only show?

I use to watch it after school it was pretty good as far as i can remember.....it was on after Mighty max and i loved that show

It used to come on the USA network along with Street Fighter and (bloodless) Mortal Kombat. Panzer and I used to rock the super ugly character designs as avatars. Demitri FTW.

I used to watch this and those shows too.
Back then I didnt know Darkstalkers was a fighting game, I thought it was just a silly show about monsters.

Mortal Kombat IS American, which makes it have that kind of cheesiness by default.

yeah,you `re right on that Ilu,but let`s be honest:most of the times USA tries to adapt something from a diferent place to their tastes and liking,it doesn`t turn out good...
Speaking of which,has anyone ever found Darkstalkers anime?I`ve seen street fighter´s already and it was awesome

And boy,the character design of this really sucked,i mean,look at John Talbain...it looks like a puppy!! *points at panzer old avi at the guild*

You can find the Anime of youtube. That's where I watched it.

Seriously, Spider man, McDonald's, and Ninja Turtles are only a few US-made things to get bizarre Japanese makeovers.

I don't think Gold's comment was offensive, because he just pointed out that when eastern things cross over to the west they become significantly more lame than the original. But to think that this kind of thing only works one way would be silly.

I think that might be true any time someone takes a concept and changes it (Especially if they're trying to 'dumb it down' for censorship reasons.) One example that springs to my mind is the using of footage from Tokusou Sentai DekaRanger for Power Rangers SPD.

I don't think it's chiefly an American thing though.. other countries have probably done it as well. In most cases, you cannot beat the original.

I only vaguely remember the Darkstalkers catroon. It had it's cheesy moments, and a new *for this show* only character. I also disagreed with Morrigan being on the *villian side* with Demitri.

I was pretty excited to hear about this toon when it came out . Man , was I disappointed .

This Darkstalkers toon was absolutely horrid . Watch a full episode now & you will agree .

Mighty Max on the other hand is still pretty good to this day .
