I know this might sound slightly armature for me to make a suggestion but if he had a run mechanic similar to Guy's where the run would be activated from something like down forward plus a kick that would be neat cuz then just like Guy, and the Slam master characters you could branch out the attacks from the running state like perhaps a running clothes line and a running body splash would be absolutely awesome!

I think it would be cool if Haggar had a "pissed off" mode.
I'm still learning code, but I was planning on doing the same thing.
Acey: feel free to use this idea, or not. I always thought it would be neat if Haggar did have a pissed off boost state, where he breaks a trashcan and finds a steel pipe in it (like Final Fight) then he uses it for a time before it disintegrates. All attacks could be a pipe smash and have block damage.
OR
He could have a mechanism similar to SFA3 Cody, where there's a pipe always on the stage and he can grab it and use it at any time but it gets knocked out of his hands when he gets hit.

if you do decide on a pissed off mode please please please don't make him flash red thats just annoying!!! You could use that anime esc angry or frustrated graphic on his head and have him grind his teeth or something like that but flashing is just plain out annoying!

if anything i say go with the pipe idea and running idea. That way the pipe is always on every stage haggar is on or u could go the easier route and have the pipe as a multi hitting hyper ending in a homerun hit knocking the opponent away lol. I hope u use the original sounds for that even if u use the template.

I love the idea of the running. In a similar vein, you could give him a move where when you input the command he grabs the opponent, then hitting different buttons does different things, like headbutts, knees, rolling suplexes, that sort of thing. it could be a cool hyper, with a time gauge and everything.

I also dig the idea of having the pipe make a cameo, even if just for a super or something.

one thing that I did have to point out though, was haggar's walk. In the original final fight, he had a standing animation with his arms out, and then when he walked, his arms would still be out. when cody and guy were brought into SFA, they were updated in the animation and graphics departments obviously, but they still kept their walks from final fight. It helped to add a little bit of a throwback to their origins, especially in guy. Having haggar walk with his arms out like that, while a very small detail in the overall scheme of things and not really necessary, would help to keep a little bit of that final fight flavor in his personality.

My question is this. What are your plans on haggars spinning piledriver? Do u plan on making his different than zangiefs? I did have the idea of having an inverted spinning piledriver where hagaar does it upside down kind of like zangiefs except even haggar is spiraling upside down with the opponent making it more devastating looking

maybe if you do the piledriver with a weak punch, he grabs faster and does a regular piledriver (like final fight 1) and then if you grab with a medium or strong punch, he grabs slower with more punishable time if he whiffs, but does teh stronger spinning piledriver from later games.

an awesome winpose would be him punching a barrel and then eating the chicken that was under it.

I was thinking more about the car. maybe you could have the car and the guy onscreen at the beginning of the match, and haggar comes from offscreen, piledriving a thug through the roof of the car, destroying it, and the guy goes "oh my car" and walks offscreen as the car disappears.

ok here is my thing.
haggar is not shown on screen but instead a wall of barrels are shown on his screen side blocking his entrance into the stage then he comes walking into the screen hits them with a final fight punch combos and breaks them but right away (the barrels need to look like they are taking more than one hit to be broken), then dose a victory roar or something like that and starts the fight.

also the slam master intro when he throws he red towel should be in.

Howsabout an intro where Jessica and Cody are telling Haggar good luck before the fight?  Or with the Travers bros (Cody and Kyle) and telling him "go get 'em old man!"

For that dashing move mentioned earlier, howsabout the one Bash has in RB2?  I don't know what it's called, it's done half circle back with C button.  Hook punches, left then right looks like a dashing double clothesline.

I would think if there was going to be a Cody in a Haggar intro it would be more along the lines of Cody being on screen to start taunting, then Haggar walks out, shakes his head grabs Cody, head locks him and tosses him off screen after a few squeezes.

About the barrel , maybe you could do a
special intro that the player could choose
(or simply a "CVS choose your fighting style")
that disable the taunt and allow Haggar
to use differents weapon of Final Fight Series (Knife , pipe , etc...)
by pressing simply Start Button (or something like this)

Bruce Lee (from Dragon Bruce Lee Story) have been made with the
possibility to use a nuncakus mode by pressing Start ,
and pressing Start again disable nunchakus mode ...

Maybe you could do somethin' like this !

wow hes almost just like Zangief.

they have similar styles (they were rivals for this reason I believe) but there ARE differences in the execution. as I mentioned, zangief spins up and down with his piledriver, whereas haggar jumps and then spins down, also, zangief spins more with his clothesline and is more controlled about it, while haggar's is a shorter duration and more wild.
