See, I've been having a problem with mice in my room as of late, so I decided to set a trap up.  So far it's worked pretty well.  I've caught a total of four mice already within the last few days, and up until now it's always killed them instantly.

That is, until the last one a few minutes ago.  He got caught in the trap by his tail, so he was relatively unhurt.

So what did I do?  I dumped him in the toilet and flushed him while he was still alive.

What else could I do?  If I had let him go outside, he would've just come back in.  Besides, he probably would've been eaten by the cats in our neighborhood anyway.

Still, I kinda feel bad about it.  He was still alive, swimming around in the toilet, desperately trying to save himself, and then I murder him by flushing.

So does this make me a bad person? 

UPDATE:  As I was sitting here typing, I just happened to catch yet ANOTHER mouse in my trap.  This one was killed almost instantly, though, so it's okay.

Its like you could go through the entire day and kill a mouse without even trying!!

Wake up.
Watch rat die.
Brush teeth
watch rat dit
Party!
watch rat die
Go to work
come back from work
watch 3 rats die in unison

I had a mouse problem in my old house. 

We set up one trap, and my mom's bf killed it with a hammer.

The next night, I was watching tv in the living room and I saw something under the table look at me (it was too dark to see properly though), so out of caution, I ask them to put up some more traps of course, they thought I was crazy, but they put up the traps anyway, and bam, in 1 am, I hear a snap in the kitchen, and of course my mom's bf killed it with a hammer.
As for me, I was dancing, saying I was right, you were wrong.

You shouldnt feel bad. After all, those things DO carry sicknesses and what not. I knew a kid thoug that used to pull lovebugs away from each other, then pull their wings off and watch them die on the hot sidewalk... Now THATS cruel

I have to study pest and other vectors that transmits infections and diseases and depends on the species it's own survival rate but believe it or not...

Almost all of these vectors like rats have a descent or high survival rate on the sewers.

Anything to do with killing pests,Spiders(god Im scared of spiders) then you are ok, just as long as you dont kill them in in human ways like with glue and a match or smashing em with a hammer . Then you are ok!

Yeah I've certainly had my share of mice and rats.Their gone now since we've set up lotsa rat poison.And we STILL have lots more just in case anymore rats or mice get into our house.Heck when a rat died 5 months back at our house.I saw roaches all over that dead rat.

Speaking of Roaches I just killed a flying coachroach 45 mins. ago.I HATE Flying Roaches.They freak me out.

Yeah, mice and rats suck, no remorse is needed. 

My roommates and I had a few last year, we caught most of them in traps, but i ended up using a broom to smack one across the room like a hockey puck.

  Ahhhh you poor guy...

Well technically by setting the traps the blood is already on your hands, its just your level of involvement that your feeling bad about. I mean I AM an avid backer of animal rights, but these things have to be done. Rodent populations aren't good for urban areas.

If this happens again, one thing - do NOT flush it down the toilet! If you have any idea how septic systems work that is really bad for them, and septic problems you do not want. You can't let it go outside because ya, its just coming back in. Just kill it as quickly as possible. Take it outside and stomp on its head once hard, or do the hammer thing. I've had to do it, and ya I felt bad for a bit, then I got of with my life... happier there was one less mouse in my house. If you really can't do it there ARE non-lethal traps available  , but your really just sending the mouse to someone else's house.

Just keep your place clean, don't leave food or dirty dishes lying around, and keep killin them with the traps and the problem will go away soon enough.
