oh well it seems that acey forgot to preview the Grenade hyper.
sprites updates is acey's department and no updates regarding the sprites have been made yet.
my work is mainly coding...like i said acey codded the first release and i codded this release based on the first.

making more new moves will require new sprites for them too you know.

as for changing the dark knight mobile sprite, well i don't mind if acey wants to changes it but i think it's ok and more original, i made it from a real pic btw.

i kept acey's ideas and concept for specials and hyper in there because it's a team project and removing them would have been rude, so i remade acey's concepts for batman and added my own vision to it.
but none of the old hypers or specials work as it was or play the same as before..you'll see when you try him out.

@race: batman is pretty much finished code wise but sending batman out now is not totally up to me cus as you know it's a Team Project....maybe after it gets released.

i don't really think he needs more hypers tho.

six hypers aren't enough? btw the armor hyper changes if the enemy was in the air, same happens for some other moves.

1) Down, Forward, 2 Punches = Random Multi Batarang

Thats a lot more sprite work, even if its a quick mode.

It would be more manageable as a distributed task, like the project was originally.

ok, i didn t know you didn t have any new sprites to code. I like the improves you made a lot, (except the batmobile).
SO THANKS TO HAVE SPEND SO MAY TIMES TO WORK ON HIM  ::salute::
i know it must have been difficult to take a character created , and improve things without changing the "true spirit" of the character.
But i think you should race have a go before you release him, believe me he is good enough.  ^^(PM)^

It works as much as anything else. I mean both the Intros of Jim Lee, and Frank Miller are more similar to current Batman while the character itself looks more like the image from 1970-95.

Its a combination of things, and thats cool

Yeah i realize that, i was just saying what i said because i do a "movie style" voice so having the movie car works IMO

I'm surprized at those who expected MORE new stuff, the batarang is completely different, the glider is new, the Double Cutter is completely new, the other moves have been noticable reprogrammed, he has new hypers and of course Dark Storm... I know the first release had a lot in it but I didn't think it would downplay the updates.

@ Race, 6 hypers is definatly enough, if you have more hypers then it's not a fighter, it's a package of hypers. If you want to draw/code some hypers into the old Batman and send them over I'm fine with that though, let us know what your thinking of.

I saw a lot of graphic comments too. Great feedback. I certaintly hope the final release will be able to have these concerns fixed.

True, it would need some more sprites, but you've come so far why stop there? You could also just make the changes later in an update.

Question about the Bat Armor hyper, when is the opponent initially hit? From the vid it looks like it happens when he lands after transforming.

That's correct, the initial stun hit is when the armor hits the ground.

Here are some of the sprites I'v worked on so far, showing the direction that Batman is going in. We have a set of sprites with the circle logo, now we're getting the second set with the current logo on the chest. Also alot of smoothing and shading is going into the new sprite set. Lastly, we're giving Batman a second stance to go with the new logo, that is the first sprite you see at the top.

Althoug there are two sets of sprite, it will all be one character, the only major change between the two modes will be the stance and sprite set. As of right now, everything else will remain pretty much the same.

Love the 2nd stance. The first one always felt a bit awkward to me.

Usually don't like the logo being so big on his chest, but I think it works really well here. The sprites look much better also. Wonderful improvement. :)

We stopped checking for monsters under our bed when we realized they were inside of us.

i suddenly come up with an idea:what about Bats covering his opponent with his cape during the I'm batman hyper?He tends to cover them before beating thugs down(iirc)

Here is a winpose I was working on for Batman.  The last sprite looks similar to spiderbat's but rest assured I made it myself from the same base I made the other sprites with.  If some would like to work on it further please do.  Obviously it's the classic shoot up and be pulled off the screen.   ;D
