I know what you mean, when I edit too much over a character or add pieces from scratch it just ends up looking so flat, but when I try to shade I make it look worse so I just leave it unshaded. Catwoman, Carnage, and Negative Man are prime examples.

This base fits him much better then Oswald did. I definitely think you should go with this base as a WIP. Or atleast mix and match with Oswald.

White does have a fuller base, but the thing is he needs of detail to look like riddler. You have to change his shirt and make his hair into face and make the coat longer when with Oswald, you just add a hat and a smile. I'll make a few more White riddler sprites then see what I do.

Yea, White does need a little more work to turn into Riddler, but it looks far better and he fights with a cane which I believe is very important (and would make Riddler much more unique). Besides, no one's used him as a base for anyone, so that's always a big plus.
