This got me thinkin' he does need an anti projectile move. Maybe you could develop this "diving tackle" to jump over a thrown projectile and slam the opponent down. Whatcha think?

I'm going to keep my eye on this one. It actually looks rather unique.

Yeah, but a lot of projectiles are huge...Maybe under it, or jusr make it somewhat odd a dodge move..

This Ryu is going to be very different from most of the ones out there, and he also will not have any Hadokens, or anything of the like.

I had a very similar but slightly different idea.

I'm curious on how you are going to lay out the controls.

this is a brilliant idea for a ryu , you could give him some nice slam throws as hypers similar to zangief and that hugo from sf3 ,good luck on this 1

Sumo ryu would be better and original than judo ryu. A fat Ryu with moves of Goro daimon from KOF

I don't see how he would be better and more unique, he would be slow as hell, and have moves form another character.
But thanks for the tip anyways, I'll have more updates whenever I get around to working on him some more. (All I have done so far is walking animations, standing, running, and a few others...)

which game play he would sport. MvC, SFA, SF3, CvS, or your own custom game

I didn't animate this stance yet, it's only one sprite ...I'm gonna detail the bottle, and make him hiccup I think XD
