Alienware, whats your opinion?

Ive been saving up so that when i get enough money i can buy myself an Alienware computer(laptop or PC not sure yet) and i just wanted to get other peoples opinion on this type

Alienware's cool and all, but it's too expensive and what you get for the rediculous price isn't worth it.

Alienware's are good for gaming, as long as you get one that has up to date components (Meaning recent cpu,mobo,3-4gig ram,latest graphic card) the price is inflated cause your also buying the sleek design, Actually [∀sian-Jesus] was right the price is inflated but is largely due to the design cause unless  your a case builder your not going to find that design any where else. What i would recommend since i build computers is i would just save some bread and put it towards a customized computer, find a good trusted site that puts the main components listed and customize it to your wallet and liking. If your going for gaming i tell a lot of people that yes you can just upgrade the graphic card and ram but if your proc and mobo isn't up to speed and not getting enough juice (Power supply) then you will notice lag in high-end games so i generally say update everything, if your just looking for simple computing and such then just having about 2-3 gigs will get you places... i know in some threads i say that even if your going just for browsing and running some programs upgrading the ram is enough but i highly recommend just upgrading it like a gaming system since gaming systems usually require the latest hardware, and that way you will be up to date for at least 3-5 years give or take.

for me Alienware is the best but what Xerxes said its almost everything you have to take in mind.

it has the best graphic components if you are a big gamer, among other great stuff. also the design of each one is unique and i love that great style.

you have to consider you pay big prices but you get great and original stuff not everyone have. Just my opinion.

Yea the tech support.  I had bad memory and a video card and it was a at least a three month ordeal of sending parts back and forth with out any luck, then I told them off and sent the whole machine back finally.  After that no problems, and it's a awesome machine.  Just hope it works out of the box and you will be very happy with it.

Alienware as a company has good stuff, but they over-charge.

Try building a system at ibuypower.com, they are awesome. (use the word "ibuypower" as a cupon at checkout for 5% off)

Whether you go desktop or laptop is a big decision.  If your laptop is just going to sit on top of your desk at home, then it's a waste of money.

nah i dont think so, ive never seenn alienware anywhere besides online
