Why is Ben 10 so successful!?!?!?
« on: April 22, 2008, 10:15:49 PM »
Kinda a dumb discussion question but, Ever since the show premiered I immediately thot. Yeah this show is another reason why Cartoon Network Sucks!!! NO ONE will watch this.

But Now...

Ben 10 has had...
a Video Game
a Movie (with 3 different endings!!)
a Live Action TV Movie!
a NEW show taking place 5 years in the future.

WTF? Where's my Teen Titans Live Action TV movie??

Anyone here Ben 10 Fans?? Just wondering why is this all of a sudden Cartoon Networks biggest hit?

Yeah...
I was like :o when I saw this a few days on theaters...

Ironically...
I don't understand the success of the series either since I'm not a fan or a hater. :-??

Is just that I don't enjoy a plot with an immature kid with such power on his arm.

If he was a little bit more serious...
Maybe I would have been a fan too.

Why is Street Fighter so popular!? No one should play this game.

I mean, it has
a bunch of games
a movie (and it was animated!)
a live action movie
a new movie about Chun-Li

WTF? Where's my King of Fighters live action movie??

Anyone here Street Fighter fans? Just wondering why is this all of a sudden Capcom's biggest hit?

*ahem* Ben 10 is made of meh.

Ben 10 is one of the very few CN originals I like. Camp Lazlo, My gym partner is a monkey are just two CN originals that are IMO bad. If this was a anime, I bet some people would be singing a different tune. I kinda like the concept of the show and it is entertaining, I can see why this show is very popular among kids.

Ben 10 is wack, I mean, pretty good concept, bad show, it's pretty boring, now if they had some kool fighting scense like Teen Titans, it might be worth all the hype, but it doesnt, what ever happend to Dexters lab, Samurai Jack, power puff girls(yes, it was a very intresting show), the only thing I like about CN now is Toonami, kinda, sorta... I do like that new blue dragon show though!
Coming 2099.

Sorry. not trying to start anything, AT ALL, I SWEAR.  Just curious. Not a hater of the show either. The new show "Ben 10:Alien Force" looks more serious and I think I'll catch a few Eps.

Asian Jesus had a good point... I was like "Wud the??" when he copy and pasted my post but had a very good point.  :-[

However, the thing I want to know is, HOW did this show escalate to all this success??

How does EVERY show escalate to success? Kids love the show. The story is about a kid with powers and fights, those shows tend to be popular with kids. Kids also can relate to Ben and his relationship to his cousin as they are like brother and sister and how they fight and stuff. Also IMO, it is just a good show. When I say anime, I mean anime done by Madhouse or Gonzo with blood content of Naruto edited which still has blood. I am sorry, I tend to believe some people don't like american action cartoon shows cause it isn't anime and if it was, they would like it. I am not saying everyone or most people, but I just have that feeling at times.

I get what youre saying. It is CN's most original Original cartoon in a long time I'll give it that.

This whole thing seriously, MAINLY started when my Uncle asked. "What's the deal with Ben 10? Its like the first few minutes are fighting then talking, then fighting again..."  :D

Then I asked myself ' why' too, and wanted to post the question here.

Yeah, there are more of those kids who hate american stuff out there than you'd think.

When I think of those weeaboos, one phrase comes to mind. "It's like I'm really Japanese!"

I never really paid any attention to this show. THe premise is okay, but it never grabbed me to want to watch more than one episode.

It does seem like it's doing fairly well though. Ironically, even though the show and it's related merchandise was marketed towards boys, I read somewhere that Ben 10's largest fan audience is actually female. I''l have to see if I can find that article again...

I thought the show was just kinda... Meh.

I did catch the new Alien Force episode, and it looks decent.
Besides, it's not like there's a lot of good shows to choose from on CN, I mean seriously, a show about Three Kung Fu Fighting Chickens? Where's the originality CN had 10 years ago?

I don't watch cartoon network much anymore, so i've never actually seen the show. I think it got popular because a lot of kids like it. Isn't that the same reason shows like Pokemon, Digimon, Power Rangers, and even Dragon Ball Z got famous? lol.

thats not the case cause i hate most animes  too  but comeon this show is so f**k*** typical anyone can make up this story. it would be better if he had the natural power but finding a watch from outer space? thats pretty gay.

I think it's really good compared to most crap this days, the action scenes don't bring nothing new but are good none the less, the animation in the smoke and particle effect is pretty well done, Some of the Transformation sequences look good too.

My Opinion? I don't like the Show but I admit it's quite good for this Era of American Crap TV.
