The only thing I know about it is there's supposed to be a 16 page comic book with it. Of course there's the cliche "making of" DVD, they're most likely not adding any characters in the CE, because let's face it, they didn't in the last two games they had CE versions of.

I think it's because Scorpion is the most popular MK character and Batman is the most popular DC character.

Well Sub Zero had more of a story then Scorpion.
Scorpion is still most popular because he's an undead ninja, and he says Get Over Here or Come Here in each game.
In MKD The eternal Gods made Scorpion the Earthrealm champion, and Ed Boon's favorite character.
There was also an Adema music video with Scorpion promoting MKDA.
