can't upload pic

Yeah, um, i have a little problem.

i'm trying to upload a pic for my avatar in the My Profile section, but i get an error message that says "The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.", and i use the Browse button to put the right path. Can anyone tell me why i'm getting this error message  ? i would be very grateful.

Yeah, that thing doesn't work too good, why don't you just upload it to photobucket or imageshack and copy and paste the URL!?
