for your hi-res stages u need to add hires = 1 under [StageInfo] on the stage .def file

example:

[StageInfo]
zoffset  = 75
autoturn = 1
resetBG  = 1
hires = 1

That doesnt seem to fix the problem

i am using SNKvsCAPCOM Ultimate Mugen War 3rd edition

and my DEf reads

[StageInfo]
zoffset = 210
autoturn = 1
resetBG = 0
HIres = 1

Yet when i play the stage my fighters are up in the air...

No i did not mean screenpack.

From what i read in your first post,

most likely you have the mugen that its can only display low-res stages.

What you can do is realign the sprites.
