I can't change this PNG into a PCX, and after, a Portrait...

I have followed every step. I have Photoshop, image converter, read the tutorials, etc...and it just won't come out right! 


All I want to do is to turn this png image into a portrait:



Can someone explain to me what am I doing wrong, or at least point me into the right direction?

First, make the image indexed...
Then go to color tables and put the last color (pink : 255, 0, 255)
Then use the paint bucket tool and make the background the same color as the last color of the table (255,0,255)
Then save the file pcx....

"Then" use the mcm or the fighter factory to replace the current portrait (9000, 1) to that one on pcx...

Ok! I did as you listed, but the picture appears either in MCM or FF with the pink background. It's not transparent.

When I first use the png file in Photoshop, The background is of grey and white small boxes.

Perhaps it's the indexing. How do I index the image?

its a color mode.

OK! It appears as Indexed color.

Now I go to the color table an go to the last color, an make sure it's 255,0,255.

That's the same color as the background.

I make sure it's in a PCX file...

And it keeps the pink background. What step am I missing?

import into the character and try it out.

Oh, sorry for the late...

You must see if you don't have other color not the last in 255,0,255... If yes, just change it a bit....... and then use the paint bucket again in the background to make it 255,0,255

Where is the freaking bucket! Iv's been looking for it, all I am using is the "dropper". (GOd, I don't even know what ist is called...)

photoshop does have the bucket tool.
