Need a biot of info on PS3

Hi guys, I read in a magazine that PS3 can play import games without any modification, is this true? I ask mainly because I'm leaving England in a couple of years and don't really want to start again, plus this last year or so has seen a LOT of games I want only being released in Japan.

Can anyone shed dome light on this for me, I'm at work at the mo so 99% of sites referring to games are blocked......

IF you get a ps3 in North America you  can play japanese games and demos. For Europe well I don't know.

edit: yeah you can play ps3 imported games since its not region locked. but ps2 games are region locked.

yep the ps3 is region free!

so you can get all the games you want!(for the ps3)
