Kind of the opposite for me but it depends on your taste.
All can say id DC writers like

Frank Miller (Sin City, 300)
Neil Gaiman (Stardust, Beowulf, Mirror Mask)
Alan Moore (Origional writer From Hell, V for Vendetta, and Watchmen)
Geoff Johns (Robot Chicken, and tons of other stuff)
Joseph Loeb (Smallville, Heroes) Yes I know hes on Marvel now but loeb is always a DC guy.
Paul Dini (the Lost, Justice League Unlimited)

DC I think has always had the best writers, its just Marvels characters might be more younger person friendly, but I think DC puts writers on the map to become legends who become as iconic as the heroes they write.

I keep saying there main continuity line has lost allot of steam since the civil war saga ended. I think they have stretched themselves to much over the years. Example : amazing spiderman, sensational spiderman, friendly neighborhood spiderman i mean come do i really need to buy all of these separate issues just to follow a story line, it just makes them look gready that they create all of these books just so that they can eat away at your money, and yes the comic book industry is not okay but marvel and dc are making up with these losses by selling and licensing there characters and movies rights. Im not biased and i dont really have a favorite but to be honest i only still kind of read marvel because its more out of habit and a few titles that catch my attention sometimes, like the the ultimate marvel universe in my opinoun is actually pretty good, i mean spiderman 117 was very anti-climatic but ultimate fantastic four red ghost story arc was actually good, but as im not a teen any more so have my taste change and i got to admit the wanted and the walking dead comic line's are truly amazing.

Meh.....This is why I don't care for Marvel and why I stopped reading their comics a long time ago. I'd rather read DC over Marvel, but I'm not much of a DC fan either except for Batman and SwampThing. I really just don't like Marvels writers or their art and their story arcs confuse the hell out of me, I flat out got bored and moved on to other comic book companies like, Image Comics, Chaos! Comics, Dark Horse Comics and of course Manga. Dissolving the marriage between MJ and Peter is just plain dumb and the way they are going about handling it is just ludicrous, I mean the relationship between the two has been something we have come to know and cherish and now Marvel just wants to take it and destroy it....WTF!!. Marvel is just ruining Spider-Man and this just makes me lose any interest I had left for this character......I guess it doesn't matter to me anyway since I lost respect for Marvel many years ago. Giving back his mechanical web shooters I think is a good idea though because that's how they are suppose to be. Well I'm done with my rant... :P

I really hate what they did to my boy spidey. It would seem that he went through everything that he went through for nothing. I loved that he got the organic webs and heightened abilities, but now they took it away. Everytime he gets something interesting for him, Marvel snatches it away from Spiderman!! Symbiote, Iron Spidey suit now the real webs are gone. All the drama they put him through with "The Other", Civil war, the trials that he faced with ezikel, the superman/doomdayish fights with Morlun. Kingpin catching a bad one was all for nothing!!! Well I'll weather another storm of clone saga porportions and see what happens next....

Damn, I want to read these comics, but I can never find them at the grocery store, etc. anymore. I have to go to a comic book store now. \-/o I just need to find one.

I didn't read the article as I don't want to be spoiled cause I want to try to read them later, but i'm intrigued as to what it is.

I totally agree with you on this!
The whole MJ+Peter has been in every series of Spidey ever.
The movie
Ultimate
The new tv series (although MJ and him went back and forth until the series got canned)
The old tv series

Seriously, after all they've been through together, you'd think nobody would be able to break them up.
They were like the comic books cutest couple.
That's why I say Stan Lee should have been in charge of the official story line.  New writers have a great tendency to f@ck great things up. Oh god. This is going to be stupid. Plus they brought Harry back!? That even raises further questions. I thought he died from the gas that he inhaled.  Well I kind of knew they were going to bring him back, I mean, when somebody dies, they always come back to life. Like father like son (Norman didn't die on the bridge because of the gas, he just escaped while in the autopsy room). Oh geez. This is going to be like Batman & Robin, except it's going to be called Spidey & Green Goblin.
Oh jeez, I hate new age comic book writers.

I think this is the result of having mulitple writers take over a long running series. The new writers will usually try to introduce something "fresh" to try to make their style stand out. The consequence tends to be that it upsets long time fans, especially if it dissolves a long standing plot point, or removes an important character.

I remember something similar happened with the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic book in the mid to late 90's. One of the newer writers planned to kill off the Princess Sally character. When the news leaked, it sent fans into a real tizzy. Despite the fan reaction, they went ahead with the storyline, only to undo it by bringing back the character at the end of the "EndGame" story arc.

Who knows, possibly the same thing might happen here.

In a nutshell Spidey sells makes a deal with the devil. To save Aunt May he gives up his Marriage, and future to save her. So time is changed, and were left with Spiderman who never married Mary jane, so many events are now confusingly changed at marvel.

I dont think Joe Q realized how passionate marvels fans are about Spiderman, and for a lot of people this is a slap in the face. I havent read many marvel titles for years, but between Caps Death, and this its like he's gutting the fans emotionally.
