A few years back, I was collaborating with some MUGEN spriters/stagers on doing a Marvel 2099-based full mugen game.  Hopefully, the first of many games, called "Marvel 2099: Fall of the Hammer," based on the comic line's first crossover storyline.

MUGEN 2099 Staff Project Forum:

It was going great for awhile, but the group eventually disbanded (can't recall why).  I acted as manager of the group, letting in new workers who wanted to help, coming up with the written story/layout outline of the game, things like that (as I don't know how to MUGEN-program, but know almost everything about the 2099 comics, and have played enough Capcom fighter games to know a good layout for a 2099 incarnation).

During the game's production, I posted this early-work video for the project on youtube:
Marvel 2099 MUGEN Early Screen Pack

Check "sexyhotlowrider"'s last message.  Is this person correct?  Any advice or help anyone can give me on reviving this project?  I still have the Fall of the Hammer crossover comic-page scans in Files of the staff yahoo group, for reference.  As I have all the comics, more can be provided.

The reason I've been putting off getting the project back underway is I'm already heavily-involved with 2 major fanfic groups, writing and site-maintenance.  I was hoping to get them caught up as much as possible, so I could focus on 2099 mugen again, but they're still taking up too much of my time, and I don't want to see this project die.

Thanks.

Doom 2009 is on my hands now. The author granted me the autorization to do it.

He will be on Nestor's Marvel Vs. Capcom United Dream Battle project.

I was working on a new version of Hulk 2099 too, but without anyone to help with the edits, its on hold.

I released a stage for him:

I think what Rodimus needs to mention that he isn't a programmer or graphics person. He's never really used mugen before either. So he'll need people to make everything and put it all together. He's not just looking for permission to use stuff, but he needs someone to make the game for him. The video he showed is a concept I made. He didn't even record the video. I'm not involved with this project anymore.

Let me know if I'm off base on any of the above information.

I gave you and the others credit in the youtube video descirption (can add anything missing), & you did some too at the end of the video, which you made.  And yes, I don't know how to mugen-program, but, as I said, I heavily understand the material, I can help write layouts, post comic scans for reference, things like that.  I'm also still heavily involved with my 2 fanfic projects, as stated.  There's also that last message from "sexyhotlowrider" in the video who said, if I can't contribute anymore, that I "should post what I got so far and let other mugen programers and creators finish it."  I thought I could at least do that for the full game.  If absolutely need be, I could do at least one character for the game, but I might need help learning it, like a "mugen-programming tutorials for dummies" kind of thing.

Best way to lead a project is doing a lot of hard work, sprite or code, then others will belive on project and will follow and suport you.

so far project have hulk and doom in progress, spiderman you will need to ask permiss to.... forget spderman, any other char at video will be a pain to sprite.

anyway, is a nice ideia to a project.

I would definately like to do Punisher 2099 this time around (spriting and perhaps also staging).  Here's the playable/boss character layout I have for the Marvel 2099: Fall of the Hammer game:

Playable:
Spider-Man 2099
Ravage 2099
Doom 2099
Punisher 2099
Hulk 2099
Skullfire (X-Men 2099 member)
Krystalin (X-Men 2099 member)
Meanstreak (X-Men 2099 member)
Bloodhawk (X-Men 2099 member)

Bosses:
The main five aesir 2099 members: Baldur 2099, Heimdall 2099, Hela 2099, Loki 2099, and finally Thor 2099.

If anyone would like to contribute to any of this, feel free.  I have a staff yahoo group which lists who did what before, has some sample sprites from then, and has scans of the FotH-related 2099 comics:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Marvel_2099_MUGEN_Project

Request to join if you'd like to help.  I've also added a new folder in Files called "NEW MUGEN", which will contain the work, info, etc. of this new resurrected 2099 mugen project.

Also LMK if you have any questions.

Thanks! :)

Also, I found a page with some images and full-history of Hulk 2099:
