Recently, I have been thinking about the Sonic games. I think it's safe to agree that the best games have been Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic Heroes. What I think helped make those games so special is either they had edge or they had Shadow. Yep. Shadow.
If you think about his interesting back story, he has probably THE best development and story out of all of the characters. It's not goofy, which is why he's never been goofy. I honestly never thought his game was bad, I liked it. The story was great, however I think it's safe to say that it can be revisited.
I have been waiting for Shadow and the rest of the Sonic universe to come back to the games as major roles, but the games have continued to disappoint us all. I came to the conclusion to revisit Shadow's story myself and write a short comic series. I would like to write 6 or 9 volumes worth of his story (3 trilogies, 3 volumes each). I want to focus on the edge, importance, seriousness, and classic story arcs/villains while exploring new original ones created by the team needed for this series. He needs a revisit and some new ideas. He needs that darkness, seriousness, edge, meaning, and so on. His character is FULL of depth and power that is waiting to be explored! We all know it!
Don't YOU want to see him again? The character needs justice, so that's what this series will do. Shadow is THE most powerful character in the Sonic universe who's psychology and powers have never been fully explored, so let's do that. He's the Ultimate Life Form, he deserves the best. The problem? I don't have artists. Sure, I could use some other writers, but it's not in my concern. I am the leader and main writer of this story, and I will help with concept art and all. Give the universe and characters a new look, while keeping it recognizable.
So, how can YOU become an artist or writer? Well, if you want to be an artist for the series, create a comic strip of one of these scenes on how you would do it. Take your freedom as an artist and do what you want! Create something new! Here are you two scene options:
