need help: Having trouble triggering hit sparks

like to usually figure things out on my own but i think ill need assistance on this one lol


Ok for now im trying to get my weak punch trigger its new hit sparks but it doesnt seem to be working. i see nothing
when i make contact. ive done it before long ago but i cant remember how i got it to work the last time.

The helpers for the FX are fine of course with its begin state numbers but it just wont make the spark show for some reason.

ill check back later while im trying to get it to work.

I see nothing at first sight. Follow troubleshooting

Use a displaytoclipboard in state -2 and have a look at the values of those variables. Make sure they are what you think they are.

If they are what you think they are. Make the triggers less restrictive. Start out with trigger1 = movecontact, see if that works, then gradually make them harder. When you insert somethign that stops it working you know where the problem is.

Thanks for the tip.

yeh i realized later its a deeper problem than the code. i think i did the code right from the start but its the FX itself

something strange happened while i was swapping the FX over in FFU. The FX sprite is there as usual but i guess something went wrong during the process. That never happened to me before

i realized it when i got curious and just placed just one of the hit spark sprites begin state numbers bare like this with no variables. and it STILL didnt work


sparkno = S6142

so that told me right there its really not the code its the sprite  8=| smh

eh Ill deal with it later today

EDIT:

ok i had time to go back and fix the issue and yeh it was a sprite swap number issue that came from
FFU. the sprite was there but the new numbers i manually picked instead of on auto as usual i guess couldnt lock in and when it did it put the sprite in as a ghost (there but not there for the game to see it)
