New to mugen, need help with something

I just got started with mugen and I downloaded a few mortal kombat characters and installed them and it was working fine, but there was one issue...no blood. I got these characters at mugencharacters.org and they had videos showing the character in action and the blood splatter effects were working, but when I try using the character when I hit there's no blood. Can anyone help me with this please? Thanks in advance

My guess is that you have versions of MK chars from the MKP (Mortal Kombat Project) which use the full MKP game hitsparks for blood, not custom ones for each character.

I don't suggest using MKP chars anyway as they are buggy in normal MUGEN. The ones on randomselect, bleed's characters, or juano's chars are better choices.
