Leaving the Internet
« on: May 11, 2012, 07:46:18 PM »
For complicated reasons I'll be taking a temporary-to-permanent leave from the internet. I don't know if I'll return or not, but the answer is: I'm going to try not to. It seems to me that I've become actively addicted to the internet to the point where I just don't do anything anymore, and I really just can't do that.

So I guess you can all start throwing confetti now.

You'll be back...they all come back.

I hope. I'll miss your anti-popular opinions and discussions.

Goodluck, I'm sure the internet will miss you...   :-??

Good luck with that. With the way things are developing in the world, it will be a chore to not be on the internet.
Like here at college, even if you have a class you have to physically go to everyday, the only way to turn in the homework is though the internet.
Eventualy people will make the internet a part of something everyone will have to do.
The only way you'll be able to totaly avoid it in the future, is to become a hermit; a wild man living off the land, viewed as a barbarian by the rest of socity....
Kriven The Barbarian, i wish you good journey.

Then it might be good to change avatar to this version of Mario:
(click to show/hide)
;*))
I've tried that few times, but then at first I needed to look up info about some stuff and then I'm already were I was before leaving 'coz of cool news, etc. Internet rids of library, tv and part of RL communications(while adds some impossible in, so called(I think internet is already big part of life, call it real or not, they fused firmly), RL communications), helps out with cooking, shopping, crafting, etc. and of course gives entertainment. So while it takes your time, yes, on other hand it helps you to economize time and gives unique features. Long stuff short - there's no need in leaving the internet, but there's need in rationalizing it's usage. Even shorter - use it when need it, no time killing ;*))

You could start by not using any social networks/forums on the internet, you're never gonna leave it permanently unless you live in a cave and your food consist of fish and fruit.
You will need internet for the rest of your life, but you don't need me to prove you that :p
