The Official Asura's Wrath Thread
« on: February 24, 2012, 07:41:09 PM »
Share your thoughts on what you like and dont like about the game.

So far (so far) i love it. Its like playing through one huge wild dramatic action packed anime. Theres hardly no dull moments in the game from what ive experienced. A lot of counter style combat ( a pinch like batman AC) you can do with asura. Graphics are on point. Hella bright. Its like whatever you would imagine in your mind doing if you had his powers the director developers nailed to the T during combat lol I dont know if you get what i mean. But say if you fought a huge boss maybe (for example) and you were playing and thinking "damn it would be hot if he went in rage mode and picked him up and slammed em!" well thats pretty much what goes on in the game in that sense.

No enemy is too safe from an @ss whippin. Asura is pretty much a god so they did it right by you fighting JUST LIKE A GOD. so in that respect i like it a lot. Voice acting is very cool and digestable in english. In japanese no question its hot of course. Yes you can lock on target you enemies too. His spaz moments when hes getting jumped are hot too. Pretty much like i said before a while back its a cross between Fist of the north star. jojos bizzare adventure & Dragon ball Z rapped up into one huge interactive Anime. You are pretty much watching an anime only its very enjoyable to play as the story goes along.

This is one of those "You have to play it for yourself to believe it" games. If you like wild beat em ups like bayonetta n such then maybe this is the game for you. Now after me getting only a half hour dose of this game im really damn curious about this DLC below in the pic here now.

Newest detailed scoop (below) & 2nd pic (above) is from GameInformer this time

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/02/21/asura-39-s-wrath-dlc-will-feature-anime-art-style-amp-ryu.aspx
Quote
Capcom announced today that some of the DLC will feature episodes that fill gaps between the game’s chapters. Unlike the rest of the game, the new content will be presented in a vibrant new anime art style. Check out the screenshots in the gallery below to behold the artful action, crafted by Studio 4C, the animators responsible for Catherine.

The other DLC offering is a zany crossover between Street Fighter’s Ryu and Asura himself. Capcom is billing the fight as a clash between the strongest and the angriest, and one that fans will love. From the looks of it, the two will be battling within the fighting framework of the Street Fighter IV engine, which sounds awesome.

that sh*t must be crazy... now im wondering how dramatic Ryus supers will be lol

Anyway IMT peoples post your opinion good or bad. so far i dig it a lot :-??

From what i got from playing it and reading stuff about it. Dosn't seem very good of a game. It's a nice interactive move thing , though.

And people say MGS4 was a movie.

I really dig how you can unlock stuff depending on how well your battle results are. i unlocked a couple new Gauge Features.

Im not diggin how i just heard from a friend when he beat it today that its only 3 chapters...he said its very LONG chapters though. i mean im watching movies and i only finished the first chapter but i dont like that its only 3 chapters. *Iceman ThumbsDown!* Im sure its action packed chapters but i was expecting maybe 10 at least...aw well at least my SF X T will make up for it plus my other games i didnt beat yet that came out as of late.

cool @ss game but for those who are sensitive and want a super long 2 week trial adv game like Batman AC simply pass this one over. Gamefly it if you can. Its a good story for a day or two. Just being honest

Other than that im enjoying the game for what it is and im more so interested in getting that Ryu story DLC for the game

that is all

Lando's corner opinion time:

after Kai building me up with how awesome this game was, i could not wait to get my copy i preordered. picked it up yesterday, played a lil, was hooked! got off work today played some more, still even more hooked!  the visuals are awesome. the music, the sounds are all on point.  i like that you dont have to use QTE moments in fights unless you want to get that dramatic intense hit in and only then at the burst point you have to use it tho .That is one hella feature.. dang cool idea.  This is a game for fans who like the intense fights, badazz bosses who are humongus! Asura is a demigod and so i expect nothing less when i hit a god they feel it big time and get knocked into a building, side of a hill, boulders, and straight knocked out. Yeah like Kai said too , its like a movie or like your actually playing an Asura's Wrath tv series. My lil nephew LOVES this game and he not even a fan of beat em ups. go figure. lol.

@ whiplash - forget what you read about it.  I once read that Mugen is a suckfest wanna be copying game creation program that only lazy losers and omega level 1 nerds mess with, but from me playing it, dont even think that nowhere in the least. lol.  you playthrough with the full game will let you know wether you really like it if its your kinda game. so if you played the fiull game and or demo and you dont like it , doesnt mean its a bad game for all. but yeah for you. I resepct your opinion bro Whiplash, might not be your taste of game.  Yeah too the Interactive move with the game is very engaging to me. keeps me glued to it.

I havent found anything bad yet with some hours  now playing it. for myself its a very good game from capcom collaboration with CyberConnect2   ( even tho Capcom uggggin me with other games big time! o.O# ) so i will give them and the people that worked on this game some major props.

Game's out already?!? Man, another game on my list I will try to pick up later this March.

@Lando: Cool feedback, I especially like the fact you don't have to use the QTE moments, even though I like 'em  :)

thanx Sabaki  :). lol. yo i actually love the QTE moments myself as well but its cool that i have the options of not wanting to do them. sometimes i get so wrapped up in whippin @$$ i pay it no mind and then use it for a dramatic feel when i wanna RAGE on someone close by just to put my godhood powers to work.  >:D, plus its also cool too that when you miss a QTE moment , you can get a side effect  from not hitting it timely plus you miss out on points and meter build. dude, its pretty sweet Sabaki. sad its only 3 chapters like Kai was tellin me while i was at work but it has alot of episodes in each chapter so for me that makes up a bit the shortness in chapters but if capcom does do filler chapters or add in missing episodes they didnt put in to reserve for DLC for bonuses , i think that would be cool too. I think this has cool replay value for me. I love beating the crap outta the enemies in various ways. >:D

@sabaki: Yessir i dropped last tuesday

But  thats the only reason why i dont mind the cut scene in game action moments. Plus they are entertaining. You can go through that if you want or not and when you do its still a button mashing moment arrangement of cool sorts to keep your eyes glued to the screen. the QTE moments inflict more damage pretty much. If you want to just straight regular scrap out you can but the fight is just going to take a bit longer because you wont be doing as much damage like you would when you accept to go in to super QTE cut scene moments by pressing the Button the screen tells you to. That right there i can digest. Thats way more cool than that past DBZ game i played on 360 where EVERY damn major move was a cut scene and you couldnt even get around that. plus they were way too long.

Also the other cool thing about is you can pause at any moment no matter whats going on and it wont disturb the action or gameplay. you know how some games in some cut scenes when you are watching a CGI moment and you have to pause the game instead it doesnt do that it cancels out the whole sequence and you just totally miss out on the moment? well Asuras wrath doesnt do that. You can just pause and step away  A feature you dont see that much in most adv games

What's up with the 3 chapters, tho? Each chapter's super long? Or, will there be additional chapter downloads in the future?

yeh i didnt end it yet but a homie told me over the phone he beat it and its only 3 chapters. But each chapter has a whole lot of Episodes though. I kinda noticed that from Chapter one though. Ryu im guessing starts off a trend in that game for "extra DLC chapters". Ryu has his own story er something in Asuras game. somethin like that. So im keeping an open mind about it. The game has potential replay value because depending on how good your rank, combat results and achievements are you unlock stuff that are useful to your gameplay like special Power/life Gauges Or a lot other practical stuff like load time screen unlockables to pick and you choose to see when you are going through each episodes in load times. various other stuff thats amusing^^

I think thats why the game doesnt let you breathe at all without dealing in any action because its only 3 very long chapters. thats why the game is so wild. if it was a more so RPG quiet game it would be pretty lame i guess.

As for the special Unlockable Power/life Gauges:
two i unlocked was one for Defense to take less damage and the other was one that was faster super power build up er something. i could switch them at anytime after a saved battle pretty much. its an automatic save feature in the game.

yup i cant wait to getg those dlc chapters and see whats the business with ryu thing. :-?? but honestly, from playing the game and still playing it, on the last 2 episodes.

what has me lauging tho is ...what makes them remotely think that RYU or anyone on SF scale can tackle Asura?  cool concept tho to try and have them duke it out but realistcally goping by how powerful he is and even Yasha...SS4 Gogeta would crap his pants if he had to fight Asura ( Hell even Yasha! Asura couldnt even beat him and he was at full RAGE out mode!
(click to show/hide)
) and know , he wont win ...period.
LMAO! 8-}

I am very happy with this game. its so different and has such a cool replay factor for me.  OMG something hilarious tho, me, my daughter, my nephew , my niece my, sister and my brother ( who came over late) was sittin back watchin this cutscene that had us really glued to it and i sat the controller down when it began , and when a sequence popped outta virtually nowhere i was diving and screaming for the controller! :D Thats how wrapped up in it if you really like it when you get into those cutscenes. once you start mastering alot of the timing on the quick recovery when hit , you can start lacing some mean comeback combos and even counters ( especially with Yasha, hella flash like fast dude) and the effects are hella sweet when you link them together with the certain button press for a unique power move. Extremely Anime like when done too!  =D> ^:)^ plus i got that cool comic that that came with it. sweeeet!
i done something i rarely if ever done before found myself actually talking to the scrubs/bosses i was fightging screaming like i was Asura when i was pulling off killer moves. Raaaaaaaaahhhhhh! especially when i was fightging against Asura and when fightging Deus. epic dramatic battles. very top notch stuff capcom and cyberconnect2 done making those fights feel that way. So far i am with Japan mag Famitsu andi am giving this a 10 out of 10.  I want MORE! RAHHHHHHHHHHH!  :D

lol I was doing the same thing in the demo. Except I was making a "ATATATATATATATATATATATATATA!" sound when he pulled a Kenshiro on that huge space finger. I'm buying this game, but it will be sometime after SFxT.

LMAO shadaloo!  :D, i was thinkin the same thing when i was playin the demo. extremely happy i got the full game. worth every penny so far. I think bro , you will like it for what it is . when i say and even kai says its like watching an anime seies/movie, bro, its just like your playing the lead character in a tv series with "to be continued " pics, and cliffhangers and then it will have a like a "next on Asura's Wrath" type ending with showing you parts of the next episode you will be doing with cinematics. sometimes , its hard as hell to tell CGI from actuall ingame stuff at points. because stuff transition very seamlessly into the next. They pulled off a huge winner in my book.

Capcom announced the Asura's Wrath download content will be released on Mar 27 and Apr 3, for 200 yen each. The first DLC is addon Chapter 11.5 of the story, and second DLC is Chapter 15.5.

ight i just beat the game. that sh*t was pretty f*ckin wild man^^ Im about to try the hidden Episode after you beat it. Funny thing is it said something about 50 episodes you have to beat er somethin to unlock other stuff.. :(|) they lost me with that one.. :-??

well anyway i loved the game. ill give it a 9.0 now because it has high potential for replay Value and more DLC i see comin seriously...
The action was non stop. a lot of button mashin moments but it was crazy.

When i saw Asuras True form in Rage it was freakin bananas man...Lord hath no fury if Ryu pisses that dude off. Theres no way he could beat Asura. Hes ridiculous lol I saw 3 forms of Asura. The super raged out Naruto 9 tails lookin version. The all black death looking Asura. Then the MANTRA ASURA...smdh lol Yasara was sick too...cool as different character to use. thats a mean @ss team right there^^

great game. i had fun :)...
 >:-(-|
Now if i can get my hands on SF X T early on saturday for my 360 that would be cool. If not then oh well ill just wait for my PS3 pre order
