Quote
Congratulations gamers. Pat yourselves on the back. Drink a cold one and high-five whichever buddy is closest to you. You've earned it. That's right, score one for righteous gamers and radical consumers the world around, you've effectively put a dent in Capcom's Better Business Bureau rating.

Effectively, the company's rating has dropped down three whole grades from an A+ down to a B. They now have more than 42 closed complaints with 40 of those being resolved with the assistance of the Better Business Bureau and more than 36 complaints closed within the last 12 months. This is up from the company's previous 10 complaints as of April 3rd, as reported by JoyStiq .

Originally we reported about gamers who came forward and were willing to work with us to help expose Capcom's shady practices by printing their Better Business Bureau responses from Capcom online. This included Capcom's first response to disc-locked content, as well as Capcom's second response regarding the lack of the pair-play feature for the Xbox 360. I'm sure having to pay for the ending to Asura's Wrath also may have had something to do with it, too.

The outpouring of rage and the build up of surmountable discontent came forward in a united, visceral scream from the charred throats of incensed, hurt and beleaguered gamers. In other words, we whined and the Better Business Bureau listened.

While websites like IGN put us down for our sense of "entitlement", and people like Michael Pachter badgered us for our protests, it all amounted to something tangible in the end, kind of.

While the rating doesn't say a whole lot about Capcom, the fact that in just a few short days they went from an A+ rating down to a B (and I wouldn't doubt that they'll hit a B- soon) shows that we can at least make a difference from a public relations standpoint.

The reason the rating dropped so quickly is because of the outpouring of all the complaints gamers came together to file. Video game consumers have become fed up, they've become tired of the business-oriented bull crap and they've decided to do something about it.

At this point it's tough to say if any of this will make a difference but I can at least speak from my own position that it feels like a win against something that almost seemed impenetrable. The NPD results for the sales of Street Fighter X Tekken throughout March should be telling. We also really won't know how much it's hurt Capcom until the PS Vita version launches this fall along with the 12 additional DLC characters. In the meantime, chalk up one win for gamers.

As always, stay classy Capcom...stay classy.

check out what some folks commented on about the article also^^

lets be real folks...It isnt a REAL DLC if its already on the disc and locked away...we all know what an expansion pack was back then and clearly there shouldnt be any confusion of how all that works

Now if everyone complained to the BBB it might drop down even lower.

Its nice there are gamers that are using the BBB to exhibit the Capcom's declining value in customer relations.

Bout freaking time they started taking hits from all the garbage they've been doing lately.

All other things aside (Locked content on disk, forced to upgrade via hard medium, dis-allowing same game file deletion), having to purchase the ending to a full retail price game?!

Nope, I'm glad I jumped ship when I did.

What, didn't you guys know? DLC stands for Disc-locked Content, not downloadable Content.

At least that's what Capcom thinks.

I too felt robbed man on Asuras Wrath because i have to PURCHASE THE REAL ENDING! wtf....you mean to tell me capcom that the ending i got was a fake and you wanna charge me extra for the real deal?  /:O *Iceman ThumbsDown!* \-/o \-/o...love the game and still playing 50 episodes but cmon yall!  o.O#

even as much as i truly like and love sf x tekken i feel robbed on the DLC characters all being there anyway. I paid so gimmie! what happened to unlocking characters? now i just unlock...colors? wtf what? mannnn. they just lucky Lando likes the game. but i noticed on the main site after they announced those 12 characters for dlc, there is more space now added with lil red _ symbols for what seems to be 10 more characters to put in for REAL dlc. yeah they can do real dlc if they want to. all that save disk space crap was just that...crap.  chalk up a good one for the gamers voices being heard.  we shall see what continues.....

but of course!  :D

i am just riddled as to seeing how they been doing stuff and now low and behold if those slots are for more characters ( not on disk) goes to show ( and slap people in da face ) that they can do DLC period. but milkin dem cows has become a way of life for capcom and some others.

i wanna know who those characters just might be. hopefully now capcom has been totally outed they will make those 12 characters free!  \-/o....yeah right.  8=|

#:-S Glad I didn't get this game in the long run.

Happy to hear that people's voices are being heard and that on a business level Capcom has been affected. I wish no ill on anyone, but Capcom needs to learn to stick with better business practices, especially for a company that promotes working hand to hand with the community.

Does this mean that capcom's going to rethink their plans for up coming games?

We can only hope so, I liked capcom a lot better 10 years ago. you know when they weren't riding the DLC train. Haven't been supporting them for a while now.

OK class! Now remember, in order to give someone proper feedback, you must BASH them! Because being nice, and or respectful, is frowned upon in the Mugen community... Ok, so what do we do to new creators and patch makers kids?

(Kids yelling) BASH THEM!!!

That's right class! now get out there and discourage someone!

(Kids) Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Objection!
