in regards to the nfl topic, heres a sports thread (as someone requested, not a bad idea) so wa la. any who....

the greg oden story...man that just sucks. i dont think its going to matter too much though, cuz i mean he was drafted by the blazers...and honestly who pays attention to them? theyre kind of the bengals of basketball. all theyre players are in jail and crap, not to mention kevin durant is taking a lot more of the spot light anyways.

thats just my take on it

They would have been a good team with him.  But now they're done, unless Zach Randolph can carry them to the playoffs  :(|)

You're a few years late with that statement. They haven't been the JailBlazers since about 2003 back when they had Damon, Sheed, and them. But the surgery won't be a big deal for Greg. Even though he looks like LeBron's pa, he's only 19. He'll still be explosive when he comes back, he's a young kid. Amare came back from the same surgery and was just as explosive as before. But some older cats who got the surgery (i.e. Allen Houston, Chris Webber, Jason Kidd) never really recovered fully.

They would have been a good team with him.  But now they're done, unless Zach Randolph can carry them to the playoffs  :(|)
The Blazers suck. I doubt they woulda made the Playoffs just because of Oden. Same for the Sonics, they won't make it either. The Celtics are a team to watch this year tho: Pierce, Allen, Garnett <- Squad.

I like the Spurs, mostly beacuse Ginobili and Oberto are there. Then I hear Nocioni plays well in the Bulls, and I hear Delfino is in the Pistons, however I don't know how he's doing. And there's going to be another Argentinian guy named Scola, but I don't know where he's going to sign.

U dont know what they would of did this year.  Oden is that good.  But he'll be back they should focus on gettin some support players for next year.  The Celtics, whoa.... can  u say offense?

Meh, I can't say I care for the spurs. I saw them pulling off a few cheap moves hear and there that made the game look fixed.

I know he's a great player. Ohio State is my favorite school in Basketball and Football. But Oden couldn't quite lead the Bucks to beat the Gators in the Final Four. I doubt he would've gotten much further in the pros with a team of burnouts and has-beens.

bottom line, the blazers wouldnt have gone anywhere with or without oden. and having zack randolph save you....yea right, nowitzki couldnt even save the mavs in the playoffs this year. when it comes to the celtics... thats honeslty a tough one. it wont mean squat if they dont have chemistry, b/c remember, there are 12 players on a team...not just 3. so ill wait untill they play a few games until i establish them as playoff contenders. then again they are on the east and any team can get in that.

which leads me to another topic. i dont think carmelo anthony gets the credit he deserves. after watching espn and hearing them talk about the 04 draft (i think it was) and how dwayne wade has already won a title and how lebron james as taken his team to the title...where does that leave melo. honeslty, if he was put on a team in the east, he would have had the same results. the fact that hes playing in denver, in the west, the best and most competitive conference, and having him take his team to the playoffs EVERY year his been on the team...and literally completely turning a team around from nobodys to somebodys.....i think that deserves atleast a little bit more credit.

The Mavs had no chance in the playoffs that year cause the Warriors owned them and their old coach took over.  That was destiny there.  The Celtics will have alot of offense but they dont have a good point guard unless im mistaken.  As for Carmelo, how much credit should he get?  U have to win to be given credit.  He should get more but not as much as Wade and LeBron.  And have they gotten out of the 1st round of the playoffs yet?  He's still young give it some time.

Melo and Ivo get to the Playoffs, but for the last couple of years in the postseason Denver plays with no heart. Denver just gets there and says f*** it. Plus, they have no depth. Melo, Iverson, and Camby sometimes, but that's it. LeBron and D-Wade have had Championship experiences already, so what credit does Carmelo really deserve. There was no way they were gonna beat the Spurs last year, but the year before that was the Clips and a few before that the T'wolves. Not hard teams to beat. And even though the East sucks, LeBron and D-Wade have both SUCCESSFULLY beaten one of the top 3 toughest team in the league the Pistons.

after watching espn and hearing them talk about the 04 draft (i think it was)
'04 was Dwight Howard's Draft Class. LeBron and them were '03.
