Basically. A Type 95 (QBZ 95) is basically a Chinese FAMAS design wise. In the game, it feels like a different gun, and it has a slightly different look too (you can compare a model side-by-side if you want). Much stronger than the MW2 FAMAS though, it was extra weak in that game. I agree though, but Activision wants these games out on a yearly basis, so I'm not surprised. I didn't like WaW all that much. Every game after 4 has pretty much been a copy of 4 though, with added dung.

I'm interested to see what Vince Zampella and Jason West do at Respawn Entertainment. Maybe they will be able to push the envelope again with FPS like they did with CoD4 now that they are free of Activision. Only time will tell though.

Famas was a 1 burst kill in MW2 o_O

With Stopping Power + Medium Range, yeah. If you didn't have stopping power, it was a really bum gun. Once you hit long range, all 3 rounds had to hit (had tight accuracy, but still took about 2-3 shots to kill from LR). Short range, it sucked. Any situation you had to hip-fire with it, you're going to lose (against a decent player). But it had to have stopping power, there was no using that gun without it. There were other guns that had the FAMAS beat without even needing stopping power, such as the UMP (still overpowered in MW3) and pre-patched Models. Assault Rifle wise, ACR was lightyears (exaggeration) past the FAMAS w/ Stopping Power. I'd also still throw the M16 and maybe the SCAR over it too.

So then the Type has even better range than MW2 FAMAS? Way to go Infinity Ward. =D>

After playing through the single player, multiplayer, and spec-ops I have to say, "what did they do for two years?" Most of the multiplayer challenges, titles, and emblems are recycled from MW2 and the single player is the shortest one yet. I like the game but I'm seriously rethinking if my call of duty dollar is gonna be there next time...

Well you have to realize that the people who made black ops didn't make this one anymore. It was more of a collab effort between at least two studios, and most of the people who made mw2 aren't at the company anymore so I wouldn't expect it to be too much better... but yeah, I agree that they should've changed out more of the weapons. Some of these are just so freaking useless, it's unbelievable.
