does anyone know what could cause (and how to fix) a problem where a character's color separation palette is the only one that shows up in game no matter what palette you pick?  It's always the color separation palette.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Odds are it's a problem with the very first shared palette sprite in the SFF file. To know for sure though it would be easier to take a look at the character itself.

Turns out the problem was that she was missing a group 0 sprite.  Simple fix.  She's great now.
