There are some few things that have an alternative storyline.

Few examples:

- Normal Reptile and Klassic reptile (the one with ice powers):
- Smoke and Klassic Smoke (which appears behind the trees at living forest
- Jade and Klassic Jade.

and the most notable is Subzero, because:

- The first Sub Zero dies (officially) by the hands of Scorpion. Then it goes to the hell and Quan Chi transforms it into Noob Saibot. You play with him just on the story mode, on the arcade mode you play with him brother. You can use the alt costume, but you aren't the original Sub Zero, since he is now Noob Saibot and cou can play with Noob.

- The second Sub Zero, his younger brother from MK2 (is the same of the Maskless subzero of MK3), is who you control on the arcade mode. We all know that Cyrax and Sketor got transformed into cyborgs and beeing sent to chase Sub Zero to transform it too, but this never happens.

- BUT, on the History Mode, Raiden lets Sub Zero got captured by the Lin Kuei cyborgs troop, saving just Smoke from this (this is why you fight with Human Smoke*). Then, Sub Zero is transformed into a Cyborg and you can play with him, as Cyber SubZero, something that never happend since you play with Sub Zero.

* HUMAN is a joke when we talk about Smoke. He isn't a human AT ALL. He was scrified to a secret dark cult of smoke demons, and he got transformed into one. He has a demon form, which kills all the guys responsible for his dead, and transforms back into a human.

BEST STORY MODE EVER...

the f**k*** story deserves the money you will pay for the game...
this should be a movie more than a game...

The History Mode goes until the start of MK4/end of MK3. Raiden descend to Hell/Underworld to try to convince Quan Chi on helping him to save Earthrealm, but after you fight 2 waves of 3 chars (yeah, the endurance now have 3 chars on a row) of the fallen chars (Liu Kang, Kitan, Jax, Kabal, etc), since Sindel almost killed everyone.

But Quan Chi refuses, of course, and then you will go to a portal, with Liu Kan and Shao Khan. The "He must win" reffers to Shao Khan, not Liu Kang. Liu fights with Raiden because he doesn't want the winning of Shan Khan and, at the end, accidentally Raiden kills Liu Kang.

Then the we go to the rooftop,where Raiden defeats Shao Khan with the aid of the Elder Gods*.

At the end, Quan Chi appears and say that both Earthrealm and Outworld are weak, and now "we" could invade both. The other person who he is speaking is ...Shinnok.

*fighting Shao Kahn with Raiden have a bug: Whenever Shao Khan throws that stupid rotating hammer (which you CANT block and makes you dizzy), teleport to behind him and executes the Torpedo quickly. You will push Shao Khan...against his rotating hammer and you will get damage. How fair

Man, this new MK makes me so happy, looks very cool wish I could have a PS3 but nevermind, this game looks very amazing . Except for Sub-Zero's fate.

It makes me sad to see my favorite MK character becoming a Cyborg and then die at hands of Sindel .

But I can't deny that was a great and unexpected twist :

Its not an ending, the whole history was changed.

Raiden (Dark Raiden in fact) travel back in time to avoid Khan win the Armageddon, where EVERYONE is dead and Khan is the winner.
But making this he change the fate and creates a new future, where:

- Smoke (which is a DEMON not a human. He was a kid sacrified to a Smoke Cult and transformed to a Demon form then back to human) is not a cyborg.
- SubZero (the younger) is captured and changed to a Cyborg.
- Liu Kang is dead (by Raiden)
- The second Kung Lao (the one from MK2) is dead.
- Jax, Kitana, Kabal and many others were kille by the Overpowered Sindel*
- *Shao Khan kills Shang Tsung and use his soul to overpower Sindel
- Motaro is dead (by Raiden)
- Kabal was't torned in pieces by Motaro, but were burnt by Kintaro
- The Soulnado is gone.

I'd just love to watch all the videos that get posted on youtube once this game comes out. It's too much gore for my household but the continuous story mode is just really smart and I'd love to see the whole thing.
