Hi-Res tutorial assistance, preferably with PSP
« on: February 23, 2011, 02:40:50 AM »
Greetings.  Likely no one will respond to this thread, but please hear me out.

I have been using GIMP to make several effects Hi-Res, but not only is it a long process, you also have to align the sprites afterwards!  Not to mention my ventures with GIMP don't look to good...

Anyhow, I have heard that Paint Shop Pro can do both; batch processing AND automatic alignment, so I would like to know if there is such a tutorial regarding PSP.

And no, PotS' tutorial doesn't help.  He only tells you what to do, not how to do it, and assumes you know how to work everything of PSP.  If possible, I would appreciate a walkthrough of PSP, since the best way to learn is to be guided once, and asked to do it again.

As mentioned previously, no one will care enough to help me, so I'll just have to sit back and  :O*D.

Any and all help is appreciated.

hmmm, I don't know of any, and I don't think PSP does automatic alignment (since I use it). Also PSP's batch processes are different then you might expect, all it really can do is chance a group of file extensions.

Aww, that's too bad to hear.  But there has to be some way they can get perfect alignments done, unless they took the effects from a sprite sheet that already has them aligned...what I'm trying to do is take the effects from different characters (since it's easier to find) and turn them hi-res and flashy.  I guess that's how PotS and some other guys do it, but I'm not giving up.

I know of a Photoshop tool that REALLY sharpens your images. Now, I don't know much about spriting so I don't know what help if any this Photoshop action could do with Mugen sprites...but if someone would like to try it out and see if it can do anything for sprites, let me know and I'll post the link...I also know at least a little of how to clear up images...wish I could find an example, but when I do what I do to them you actually see that there is a difference...meh nevermind about that last part, but let me know if anyone is interested in that Photoshop action I was talking about before...

Sure, go ahead and post it, though I don't think it will help me much.
