Need Help With Video Game Hacking

Hello People of the IMT Forums.
I need some help with hacking.... No not the "Steal your account" kind of hacking but hacking in Video Games. Like Changing levels or characters and stuff.

Some games I would really like to hack would have to be...
Star Fox 64 (N64)
Super Smash Bros (N64)
Sonic The Hedgehog (1 - 3 and Knuckles on Genesis)
Super Mario Bros (NES)
Street Fighter 2 (any version on any system)
MegaMan (Any of the NES ones)

I would really love some help with this. Any Links to any Hacking Tools or Guides for these games will be very helpful to me. The reason why I want to do this is because I need something to do in my free time. (Don't say make characters for Mugen Because I have no idea how to do this and I can't find any guides to help me with it)
