SFA HR sprite

hi guys! i needed a HR sprite for a stage and decided to convert it myself from the LR!  :P
Anyways, i see the sprite too flat! maybe i need to add more shading?

Looks really good. I do think his chest and abs looks like it has more depth in the LR, maybe add a little more shading on the chest area.

It's interesting, almost looks like an oil painting. Pretty impressive feat to accomplish with pixel art.
That being said, he still has a lot of jagged edges in his shading. My best advice would be to smooth those out and work on the face. Try and give him some personality. Lastly, the colors are pretty drab. You may want to make them more lively.

The sprite looks decent by itself. But when you put him next to that dumpster in the stage, the character does look really flat. I think he needs a lot of work on the shading
