Free Programs to get transfer songs from Ipod to computer...
« on: March 12, 2010, 01:03:27 AM »
Does anyone know of a good program that takes songs from an Ipod and put them on a computer ligitamitally? My computer crashed with ALL my songs from my CDs and the like. If someone knows of a program to do this legally and for free? Thanks much everyone.

Copytrans.com

This should allow you to  transfer songs directly into your ipod without the use of itunes  and vice versa.

Lemme know if it worked.

It seems like all that program does is restore the files to iTunes but I think he wants to recover all of his files in his music folder.

My solution would be to double click the ipod in My Computer. In Windows 7 click the organize --> Folder and search options. Click the "View" tab. Then you should see "Advanced Settings" and in the box you should see a option that says "Show Hidden files and folders". Click the box or circle to enable it and click "Apply". You should see a folder in your ipod called "Ipod_Control" appear. Enter that folder and then you will see a folder called "Music" and that folder should have all of your music, videos, and I think also pictures in multiple folders. The music might not have normal file names but they should still contain information in them to tell you what they are in a music player.

EDIT: Also this topic should be moved to the Technology forum.
