Oscars 2010
« on: March 08, 2010, 10:28:00 AM »
Yep,it came this time of the year where the Academy Awards are handed out to ppl

The results most ppl care about go as following:

Best Motion Picture : The Hurt Locker

Best Leading Actor : Jeff Bridges

Best Leading Actress : Sandra Bullock (who became the first person to win an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year for two different films...oh the irony)

Best Animated Film: Up

and what's more important this time:

Foreign Language Film
El Secreto de Sus Ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes) from Argentina  :w00t:
*Second oscar winning film ever from Argentina. The director of the movie also made another great movie who made it to nomination a couple of years ago,but didn't win the award. This time he made it :D*

And the best of all,AVATAR DIDN'T WIN ANYTHING BUT VISUALS! LOL TO OVERRATEDNESS!

The Oscars are just so out of touch. I am glad Bridges won. Anytime The Dude wins an award I can appreciate that. Still it's a sad fact that the MTV Movie Awards, and the Spike TV Scream Awards are growing every year, and the academy stays in it prestigious, or rather pretencious duldrum it's been stuck in forever. Still refusing to give any time to Action, Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi, or real Anime.

I thought giving "Best Picture" to the Lord of the Rings movies a few years ago was classy.

True, and the same goes for Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker being honored. I am more getting at the awards they generally offer, and the criteria in which they nominate. Theres always a few films they recognize, but the fact they don't offer a best horror film, best action film shows how out of touch they are.

The put together a beautiful tribute to John Hughes as a legend, yet they had hardly ever recognized the mans genious for his Gen X, and Comedy Films during the time he was alive.

Just a little something most ppl completely ignored: when receiving the award for Foreign Language Pic,Director Jose Campanella(director of the winning film) mentioned "Thanks to the Academy for not considering Na'vi a foreign language"
That made me LOL a lot  :DxDie

I gotta disagree about the Scream Awards. Not many shows give honors to Comic Books, and celebrate Creators Like Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, Geoff Johns, and put them on the stage with people like Johnny Depp, and Tim Burton.

Not to mention bringing out guys like Bruce Cambell, Kevin Smith, Seth Rogan, and promoting cult films like Repo the Genetic Opera. It's something I eagerly await every year. I am anticipating the 2010 awards already!

I would've watched the Oscars if digital TV wasn't so darn unusable.  I can't get ABC or FOX.

I'm glad Christoph Waltz won.  I called it the day I saw Inglourious Basterds that he was going to win an award for acting or at least be nominated.

Honestly, people need to stop using 4Shared.
