I've been watching this show from the start, and only missed a little more than half of Season 6 (dam you high school system! keeping me occupied with homework! ;*))), but I plan to get all the Season DVDs soon and watch them all again.

--------

Uh, but has anyone else been watching the current season?

I just watched tonight's episode with the guy kidnapping the Kryptonians, and my exact words at the end... "oh sh*t...."

lol.. Comments or opinions about this season, anyone?

I've been watching since the first season.

The show has been pretty trashy since season 4 but I finally stopped watching after the abortion that was season 8.  By that time, I was only watching because Supernatural came on right after, which is a much better show.

The Lana drama, the bizarre direction they took Lex's character (including, ultimately, his death), and the awful interpretation of the Doomsday storyline just left me nauseous by the end of the season.  It was like finishing Final Fantasy X-2 and realizing that the series was just no longer something worth investing time in.

The show just doesn't deliver anymore.  As bad as the previous seasons were, the finales usually ended pretty strongly.  Season 8's finale ended in disappointment.  The stupid fight between Clark and Doomsday lasted for all of one minute.  A whole season of waiting for a marginal payoff.  Well, now it seems like to me that continuing to watch the whole show will provide me with little payoff when it finally ends, hopefully this season.  Even if they bring Lex back, I'm sure they'd find a way to screw that up and have him show up for just one measly episode.

Totally disagree with Dr Zaius.

With Geoff Johns now writing episodes I think Smallville is better than ever. The Legion episode was great, and the JSA episode was probably the most elaborate Superhero event ever put on tv.

Personally I thought the show was tired before Season 8, the overdone Lana/Clark drama. The idiotic posession of Lex by Zod, and the whole dumb escaped Phantom Zone demons with lame guest stars like Batista.

The last couple seasons weve have a lot more true blue DC tradition, and less Soap Opera.

Glad Lana is gone, and I miss Lex, but I was sick of every episode focusing on him.

I don't think he can cure them. His blood acts like an anidote to counter the chemistry that keeps their powers from working. Intoducing his pure Kryptonian blood into their clone DNA restores their bodies to their normal condition that they should have under a yellow sun. Hence they heal fast having their powers restored.

yeah i say this bcuz  he was never able to do this in comics   not ones  ive seen    so i guess General/Major Zod  is gonna give his Blood  to the other kandorians  or Clark's blood is still needed   I just hope the last episode isnt another Cop out  like the Doomsday one  Last season   I wanna see a Good Fight between Clark and Zod

From the preview it looks like Zod should be able to give the Kandorian clones his blood.

I dont think they will cop out on the fight. The problem with Doomsday was budget. The more they would show him the cheaper he looked so I think they didnt want to show him too much, and show how fake he looked. Zod should be no problem, plus being that the real Zod is in the phantom Zone they can let this one get fragged and it doesnt really matter.

Agreed, that JSA episode was awesome. Liked Hawkman's character best. Seemed kinda like Rorschach in a way. Was more surprised seeing Checkmate even mentioned in an episode. This is leading up to something interesting.

As for Lex, I'm thinking he'll come back for the final episode (since I heard this was the last season) to pretty much show that Supes has the biggest threat to deal with again. Of course, finally showing Clark take the proper costume on as well. Hoping they keep Lana out of this season for good though, she's done enough now.

We stopped checking for monsters under our bed when we realized they were inside of us.

People I can't tell you how much all of us over here, as well, were getting so tired of the Lana/Clark drama... and the fact she left that show for another non-Capcom Street Fighter movie (it's called read the script, woman! ;*))).... I was just like wow... and then she came back for that one episode... In honesty, I thought it was realistic but bad for the character that... Davis Bloome (after being separated from Doomsday) killed him... I was like "TURN AROUND!... dam it..." :DxDie

Anyone ever notice in this show that people like Chloe and Lois thing they have superpowers or something.. they hit the bad guy thinking he's down then try for save the person they captured, then they end up getting knocked out.. I'm always  :DxDie at those parts. It's like wake up and smell the Smallville YOU'RE NOT SUPER coffee... ;*))

Uh.. but yeah, when Zod flew at the end of the episode I was like.... oh... sh*t... NG! I wonder if it was Clark that gave his powers back, or that he somehow figured out a way to get his powers back and just didn't tell his people... :-??

The show WAS tired before season 8.  To me, the show jumped the shark when Lana and the other girls turned into witches.

Season 8 was a definite example of Smallville being a soap opera.  Doomsday's human side is in love with Chloe and he goes insane whenever she's gone.  Then, when the two personalities are split, the human side goes bad anyway and kills off Jimmy, who ended up not being the REAL Jimmy, which was a total copout by the writers who didn't want to offend Jimmy fans but wanted to get rid of the character.  These are all soap opera cliches.

The Lana drama is still there because, all of a sudden, she SHOWS UP AGAIN after a retroactive change in plot (much like the reveal that Jimmy wasn't the REAL Jimmy retroactively changed Jimmy into Jimmy's BROTHER) and gains SUPER POWERS and starts GETTING IT ON with Clark, like some kind of fan service no one wanted.

The recent seasons seem to be less original storylines and more aberrations of storylines from the comics.  The Doomsday story was complete and total suck and does not do the real story justice by any means.

Oh, how I miss the days when Lionel Luthor was still pretending to be blind...

Well to each his own, I think the show is by far more entertaining now. To me the early seasons were Clark done like Spiderman in his youth. I liked it but, meh, Just another meteor freak every week, like Static Shock or something.

To me it really seems like a DC Comics TV show nowadays. In fact season 8 was supposed to be the end, and due to the rating boost it grabbed season 9, and 10 now confirmed.

WAR Checkmate, WAR more DC heroes!

In that episode where he dies, it is revealed that his full name is Henry James Olsen.  They then show his younger brother (HE HAD A BROTHER!?) who is given the OTHER Jimmy's camera.  This younger brother, at least according to http://smallville.wikia.com/, is named James Bartholomew Olsen, which is Jimmy's full name in the comics.  Whether or not that's his actual name in the show (I can't remember), it is HEAVILY implied that he is the real Jimmy.

This may have been done to fit the comic books (Jimmy was younger than Clark, not around the same age) but it's not like the show is canon in the first place.  In the end, it just seemed like a copout.  Kill off a character, make some retroactive changes, and make it all extra dramatic with a funeral scene and sappy dialogue and hope for the best!

I dont think that kid is ever going to come up again durring the show.

I'm so mad that Supergirl didn't get her own show. I mean you can only take Smallville so far and it would be a great opportunity to branch out the series. Well, I guess it's always possible in the future anyway...

Also while were on Supergirl note, why hasn't Clark called her back anyway. I see all these Kandor people walking around and Kara left the show to persue a lead to find her homeworld. Also we see Zod back! I mean come on...

Lex is never dead! I mean even without Dr. Fate saying it we ALL know that Lex will return one way or another.

The highlight of this season was the JSA episode. Only I wish the new team could meet the old team or at least fight it out with one match.

I'll admit the whole "well that's Jimmy's older brother, this is the real Jimmy" kind of thing really messed it up. Who knows... maybe the older brother Jimmy left a journal for younger brother Jimmy, and Clark ends up saving younger brother Jimmy (very heroicly) sometime in the future. I think that's what could happen. Plus look at how in the Superman Returns movie... Jimmy was clearly younger than Clark & Lois.... so... kind of fits. I would guess that younger brother Jimmy would be about 18 when he joins the Daily Planet, and then starts investigating and Clark ends up saving him. Something like that could definitely work. It was weird though, I have to check the season episodes sometime again, but the older brother Jimmy never mentioned a younger brother, I don't think. Also yes the Clark & Lana thing... I thanked God when they ended that crappy @$$ side story..... Clark was so clueless when she was around. Also, does anyone think we'll see Martha Kent again? She is still alive..... but she never did come to the wedding, and I remember Lois calling her about the dress she found in the Kent house and the whole "use it when the time is right" thing... that was a good reference to let us know she's still alive. Uh... but yeah the whole Dr. Fate referencing Lex still being alive... I mean.. I saw it coming... It was obvious he's still alive... without Lex there would be no Superman story... period... and if he ever dies, I'm sure a kid will pop out of nowhere claiming he's Lex's son or daughter...

Who else likes the actor who plays Green Arrow in this one? He seems cool and funny. I would like for him to stay on until the show ends. Also, a green lantern should pop up somewhere... That would be nice.

Oh.. I forgot to ask what y'all thought of the Absolute Justice 1-hour event?

I thought it was pretty good. Introduced that one lady that I think was in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies as Lex's assistant.. and she said something about an "Armageddon is coming" and I was like.. Really? no kidding...
