Angry Video Game Nerd and Nostalgia Critic not funny?

Is it me or AVGN and NC are not funny like they used to be, or their early videos. I only watch AVGN because what he does best. And NC is the same thing. Does anyone feel that way?

Well I like the fact that AVGN has let some of the swearing go because there can only be so much before he says a certain word every few words. Personally I think AVGN is still good.

AVGN is getting good again, just watch his street fighter 2010 review same goes for nostalgia critic's commando review.

The churn out of videos during the year, its really easy for them to burn out when coming up with jokes especially when they have a tight schedule to keep.

AVGN's Super Maro Bro's 3 Revew pissed me off. But he's not done anything that vulger sence then so its ok. I never really thought the Nostalgia Critic was funny.

The cleanest review he has ever done was with Captain S and AVGN Christmas because of the kid friendly nature of of PBC's videos so most of his cursing is replaced with corny one liners and a goomba censor.

The wizard review part was alright but it kinda turned into a Stephen King novel afterward.

I hate nostalgia critic youtube poop, it doesn't seem to mesh, has anybody seen some of those videos. I swear it can kill brain cells with prolonged exposure.

Nostalgia Critic is... like an unfunny Weird Al.  Okay, I can tolerate him in small doses but his reviews go on for 20 minutes.  It's 20 minutes of footage and him saying whatever comes to mind.  It's like him saying whatever I'm thinking only in his goofy voice.  Sometimes there's something clever but usually not.  He should condense his reviews.

I think AVGN is funnier now that he's swearing less.  I couldn't tolerate his earlier videos.

AVGN's reviews need to be a little longer, in my opinion... He only spends like... 5-10 minutes on these old games (some of them only like 2 minutes if there are more than 1 in one episode)... and i'm just sitting there.. he's pointing out what he calls "flaws" yet, of course there are more flaws to be discussed... it's like wtf.. I also think him letting go some of the swearing was the right think to do. He needs to bring in something new with every 1-2 reviews though, because it gets boring watching him do the same routine.. start game, comment on title screen, swear, play, play more, swear...

@SpiderMew: I thought it was pretty funny in my opinion with James pointing out that SMB3 hails Satan because of the 666 references. I don't think he was trying offend anyone in any way in the video.

On-Topic: I never watched the Nostaliga Critic but I noticed that James has become swearing less in his videos which is a good thing since he constantly did that in his earlier videos and it got on my nerves after a while.

I think the nostalgia critic has gotten better, and the nerd is kinda steady. The SMB3 review seems to be dedicated to the paranoid people who notice the smallest, unnoticeable things you would never realize unless someone else pointed it out. My favorite reviews by them got to be Die Hard and Judge Dredd.

Why was the SMB3 review so offensive? I thought it was fine. Yes it had religious themes, but there has been many games and media which go 10X further. I mean come on it's entertainment chill out and just laugh at it, I know I did. Sometimes people are just to up tight when it comes to religion.


AVGN has always been fine for me. I don't care about the cussing. It's intended for adults. NES games are to old for kids so that is not the intended target. So for a show that is intended for adults it should have adult themes. I mean come on.

honestly, at the end of the day the devil was still bad, jesus still kicked his butt, and we all owe the good guys our thanks. I can't really say it was blasphemous or anything, even if it was a bit wacky. I think the passion of the christ was more out of line, personally. it's basically spending seven fifty to watch people beat up and kill jesus.

I just don't understand it is all, I guess it's because I'm not that religious so those types of things don't burn me up.
