Has anybody seen the Tekken film premeire?
« on: November 05, 2009, 09:01:02 PM »
The premiere was today in Mann's Criterion Theatre in Santa Monica.

I'm just wondering if anybody here's seen it. I haven't seen any reviews anywhere, I'm pretty sure its terrible.

I would have loved to see it, although I don't have much hope for it.
Punctuation and capitalization can make the difference between "I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse," and, "I helped my uncle jack off a horse."

Most newer stuff sucks, though.

The movie is being released worldwide next year. The premiere was November 5th.

I looked at the cast list on Wikipedia, and just judging from that, I think it'll be 100 times better than friggin' King of Fighters.  Tekken at least gets the story right, and they get bonus points for casting Shang Tsung from the original Mortal Kombat film as Heihachi; KoF screws up the entire storyline of the games and apparently drew names out of a hat to get their cast.

If I had to pick Tekken or King of Fighters as the one fighting game-based movie to see, I'd go with Tekken.

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I don't want to wait next year. I've gotta watch this right now on YouTube If they're able to upload it like Ed Edd'n Eddy's Big Picture Show.

hmmm i think this movie is gonna be beynd better than KOF. the casting is wayyyy better and it has some good stars in it thats very familiar.  usually a better cast with a good story and great action equals blockbuster. i am bettin this will be awesome. it better be!! its got a huge reputation to uphold and do the games justice. heck even eddy gordo guy that was cast, is pefrct for the part. now thats casting!!

I heard a rumor that Batisa (the wrestler) is playing King. I really hope thats not true. Not only is Batista not an actor, he's not even a good wrestler! They should've got an actual luchadore at least. Dos Caras Jr. is a real luchadore and he's 6'5. He woulda been perfect as King. I mean, just look at him.

hmmm he could be a good choice indeed but then again too he is a wrestler and not an actor either. so its like same ole same ole.  lol. bastista even tho is a wrestler in 'fake' wrestling he is still actingand its more entertainment than real sports wrestling  as well as the lachadore but king in tekken doesnt wrestle in the lucha libre style. he wrestles in the wrestling we see more on wwe/ecw/tna style. but yet again how much actual screen time is king gonna really get? he wears a mask all the time so we wont know who is really starring as him other than casting and credits.  but that guy does look cool as king. well  :-?? how to call that one really. long as he can act for whatever screen time and scene he actually gets and action sequence is really important. i am stuck on that one. lol

I doubt king will be a vital part of the plot. you'll probably only see him for like one scene.

Okay, so maybe casting "Big Dave" Batista as King is a stupid idea.  At least they didn't pick someone like, oh, I don't know, HULK HOGAN, who can't seem to stop hyping himself despite the fact that he's got two hip replacements and is currently turning TNA into WCW 2.0.

Great cast so far... but what, no Paul Phoenix??? As far as Big Dave Batista being King... I can actually see that happening. Gotta count your blessings sometimes because there are a lot worse wrestlers in the business these days (I'm thinking of Punk, Cena, McIntyre and so many others that have made the WWE a disgrace). Yeah that is because they don't want you to hear his voice yet in the game for some reason. personally i think its a good pick because even though that guy in the pic is luchador he isnt as ripped like king is. Batista on the other hand is more ripped and his skin tone more than matches king. they just better do a good job on the mask meaning i better not be able to see most of his face letting me know its Batista. also hope he doesnt get cheesy lines. i think this will turn out much like mortal kombat movie when it first came out meaning how hype it was back then.
