Their role is similar to the Papal Swiss Guard of Vatican (who guards the whole state of Vatican and the Pope) but they also have a role of exorcising or executing demons, spirits, devils or any creatures that are against God (pretty much similar to the Burial Agency but they are not as extreme as the Burial Agency that are unforgiving when executing heretics).

Abyssmal Sword
(Hyper)~D,DB,B,D,DB,B,y or ~D,B,D,B,y - If it has at least more than 1000 power left, it makes it unlbockable and gives bonus damage by consuming another 1000 power points, otherwise its blockable and gives moderate damage.
(special)~D,DB,B,y - deals a random damage from 1 to 120. Every use of this move consumes the paladin's health.
-note: A cursed sword that was used by an Abyssmal Knight in Glast Heim. He kept this cursed sword as a trophy to win his first battle against an Abyssmal Knight. Another reason why the Paladin kept it because it possesses great power and gives huge damage whenever he uses it. The consequence is that whenever he uses it as a special, it eats away the Paladin's life. It was said that using the Abyssmal Sword too much can turn anyone,who possesses the Abyssmal Sword, into an Abyssmal Knight.
Holy Spear/Shining Spear Blade
(Hyper)~D,DB,B,x or ~D,B,x - Stabs the opponent 10 times max. 20 max if it has spear quicken buff (Consumes 2000 power points)
-note: The spear that was once used by the Lord of Death in Nifflheim, Realm of the Dead. Suprisingly, his spear
was not turned to darkness when he became the Lord of Death. The spear remains its holy attribute. It might be
the reason why he can reduce holy attacks. When the Paladin won against the Lord of Death, the Holy Spear became
his trophy.

- 2-strike sword attack that follows the pattern of "Signum Crucis" (The sign of the cross). There is a 10% chance to deal critical holy damage for each strike.
-note: Somewhat the famous move for crusaders and paladins(in my opinion).

- All Paladin's sword attacks are greatly improved.
-note: The sword symbolises the bearers honor and virtue. It also symbolises the word of God or the sword of the spirit during the middle ages. It is also represent as the defense of the christian faith. Enchanting a sword with holy powers might match its strength from any other mythical swords in folklores and legends.
Holy Bolt - Unleashes a concentrated holy energy.

Holy Light- Summons a beam of light from heaven.

Fist of the Heaven - Hyper form of Holy Light. It has a cast delay. When it casts succesfully, it summons a super concentrated
holy light from heaven that makes it unlblockable and gives huge damage. (Consumes 3000 power points)

Divine Providence - Boosts defense. Healing rate increases during this effect. - (1000 power points)

-note: A.K.A. Providence or Resistant Souls(iRO). In Ragnarok Online World, it grants non-crusaders demon and holy resistance.
In the M.U.G.E.N. world, it boosts the Paladin's defense. This move is like Assumptio skill from High Priest in iRO.
Spear Quicken - greatly increases the attack speed of any spear-type moves but reduces its attack. (1000 power points)
-note: For Agi-type Crusaders, they rely on speed by their spear skills.
Sword Throw - a move that can throw swords.

Mega Sword Throw - The Hyper form of Sword throw. Capable of throwing like a speeding bullet. (1000 power points)

-note: His old version of sword throw has a weird animation and it kinda sucks. After battling with Ciel(Melty Blood/Tsukihime), Paladin was able to throw swords much faster like her and his sword throw skills improved.
Black Key - Alternate move for Sword Throw. Much quicker than an ordinary sword and it deals more damage. Paladin can only have up to 10 black keys. Black keys can be created by materializing. Upon contact, the target loses its power.

Materialize Black Key - Creates a black key at cost of mana/power. It can store up to 10 black keys.

-note: -a holy weapon recommended for executors of the church.
-Ciel's main weapon as an Executor of the Church are the Black Keys. The Black Keys have the appearance of sword hilts with blades materialized by sorcery, though the Keys are treated more as daggers than swords and can be thrown. If the Keys manage to hit the shadow of a target, the target will be pinned down and unable to move as the shadow cannot separate from the body, and in such a case only Ciel can remove the Key pinning the shadow. Rapid Smiting - Knocks the opponent with a shield 5 times and it has a chance to stun the opponent. (1000 power points)

Holy Shield - Absorbs up to 500 of guard damage. Damage receive from guarding will temporarily strengthen its shield and heals the user. Gains bonus damage when doing shield attacks. The power of its shield gradually returns to its origin strength when Holy Shield buff is expired. (3000 power points)

-note: Paladins are also capable of using their shield as a weapon. If their primary weapon is disarmed, the shield is their best choice as a secondary weapon.
Sacrifice - This move becomes unblockable and gives damage depending on the Paladin's current life. Costs a portion of its current life. Unlike Abyssmal Sword special, the user only lost a portion of its life if it made contact. Damage = 15% of Paladin's current life. Loses 10% Paladin's current life upon contact.

Martyr's Reckoning - Paladin becomes unblockable for the next 5 attacks. For each attack, Paladin loses 9% of its hitpoints yet it deals an additional 9% of its Hitpoints to Paladin's attack. Martyr's Reckoning buff cancels when it expires, after doing 5 successful attacks, or Paladin's hitpoint reaches its critical.
-note: Paladins are well known for their huge hitpoints/lifepoints and their martyrdom or their great sacrifices. Paladin can sacrifice their blood to enhance their weapon damage.
Paladin Frenzy/Vengeful Frenzy - Paladin can perform a series of attacks against an opponent.(1000 power)

-note: The only move that can perform series of attacks.
Grand Cross - The most powerful move for Paladin. It creates a cross shaped sign on the ground then unleashes its power. The Paladin damages in the process but the enemy receives more damage and it can't be blocked. (5000 power)

Heal - Recovers a suitable amount of hitpoints. Increases healing rate with Divine Providence buff. Requires 1000 power per use.

-note: Paladins also use heal. Since their intelligence is not that high unlike Wizards or Priests, their heal is not sufficient and it cost them a lot of mana.
Mana Recover - Gradually increases the Paladin's power/energy.

-note: The only way to gain power much faster.
Resurrection - It is believed that the paladins who have been anointed by the Pope will grant the ability to resurrect themselves back to life. Who knows? Probably it was just a miracle that it happened.
If it has 3000 power or more, there will be 15% chance for Paladin to resurrect. Loses all its mana after resurrection.
Minimum of 3000 power - Paladin resurrects with 1/3 of its hitpoints.
Minimum of 4000 power - Paladin resurrects with 2/3 of its hitpoints.
Minimum of 5000 power(max) - Paladin resurrects with full hitpoints.
