PS3 MUGEN; a possibility?

Messing around with my PS3 I noticed something in the system settings: Change Operation System. What exactly is that? By changing it to Windows, could one use WinMUGEN?

OK linux is what the Xbox runs mugen off of . But the problem with the PS3 is it's a mess .  ll the programmers complain about making games for it , becasue it's to complicated to program for . So I think it's highly unlikely that someone will get mugen will run on it

Only if the PS3 has an x86 processor, which I don't think it does.

On the contrary . Why couldn't you just slap on a linux mugen on the Xbox then ? Because each system operates differently . Xmugen had to be altered & took time by hackers to get to run on the xbox . It's going to be the same way for mugen on PS3 . So will it ever run on the PS3 ? Will the hackers ever take the time to program it ? Probably not .

mugen is one of those games that maybe should be exclusive to just a computer. think of what you would have to do . you would want evey last character ever made or the best of the best to wanna put on it. who would want to keep changing in and out of characters everytime a new came out you would have to make a whole new one. i too would love to put mugen on a console but as i am designing my own and seeing what my computer can do the more i think of it , it should be just on computer. i dont know but thats one of my thoughts . Mugen is the answer to a video game fans dream of making their own characters and bringing them to life and the computer gives us that. the console market has already a flood of professional designers and games. this is to me the ultimate fighting game for the computer and maybe just maybe , it should stay that way.... for now.

I only play mugen on my Xbox . Seriously .

This is misinformed.  The XBox had to be hacked to run linux - the PS3 does not.  It's designed specifically to allow it.  There are fully functional linux distributions out there for the PS3.  Talk of the PS3 being "a mess" is just silly - if programmers are unfamiliar with the architecture (understandable) then they'll have problems developing for it, but that's up to them to resolve.  Linux runs well on it as do countless linux apps.

However:  Mugen can't be made to run on it, for the reason given by MirageAtoli - it uses PowerPC architecture, not x86, and no PowerPC build of Mugen was ever released.  You'd need the Mugen source code in order to do a build (which would probably be pretty straightforward), but no-one has that (or if they do, they're not sharing).
