Yeah pretty much. The only reason anybody ever watched the original cartoon was for vehicles that transform into robots and beat the hell out of eachother. Everytime they introduce some human kid that's under the age of 16 its impossible to take the story serious at all. The only reason I watched the cartoon was for morphing robots that beat the hell out of eachother. That's what I wanted in the movie and that's what I got.

honestly the SatAm sonic didn't age very well. i used to remember it fondly, but i find it unwatchable now that i've gotten older.

it was not bad...but the minicons were also a very stupid idea as well as adding semi-useless humans to the plot
Beast Wars/Machines is one of the last good Transformers franchises ever,and ironically it was not made by japanese ppl(i think the studio in charge was canadian or something)

And then Energon butchered it.

The Minicon concept was pretty cool. Especially with the Starsaber, Skyboom Shield and Requiem Blaster.

Yeah, I didn't like some of Armada because of the humans and minicons because it made it feel pokemonish, but the robot designs and Star Scream were epic.
