What Universes do you pull Chars/Stages from?

What games/universes do you pull your characters and stages from? For example I use Capcom/Snk/Marvel characters. I do not use Mortal kombat, Nintendo or DC characters for they aren't in the same universe as them (But for DC: the crossover comics with Marvel that I think are useless and Almalgam comics are in a way connected). Other than that if I come across characters to download that are in other universes (like Star Wars, God Of War, Tekken, Soul Calibur, etc.) then I'd download them. What are your stipulations of compiling mugen? Or do you throw every universe together? Either way, its cool and interesting to hear your response.

I don't stage or character discriminate. i either like them or I don't.

Considering what Mugen is I find it, honestly, stupid to limit one's self to only certain characters of a series.

It's a pet peeve.

I gotta second this. To me, the biggest attraction to Mugen was that you can have match-ups that never could have been possible otherwise. "Mugen" means "infinity" after all, so it seems pretty pointless to limit yourself on what you download (you'll also miss out on a ton of excellent original stuff if you do this). Just get what you like.

I have no limit in mine. Im going to name a few.....SNK, CVS, KOF, last blade, samurai warriors, Street fighter alpha & 3rd strike, MvC, Capcom(jojo, darkstalkers, etc.),marvel, DC, GGX, melty blood, arcana heart, asura blade, big bang beat, basura x, waku waku 7, anime(Inuyasha, dbz, & many more), MK, Cartoons, and many, many more.

well i tend to get of marvel, dc, and capcom since im most familiar with those. but up until recently ive found that i downloaded all the available chars from those universes and my roster was getting boring. so now its basically random. Heck I have some guy named Roche and Zenith and some other random chars that i saw in the latest releases section which make my roster interesting. I love to match up guilty gear vs. eoh and dc vs. kim kaphwan or whoever else. Pretty much my tastes have evolved since i first started playing mugen and glad for it

I really like to see fiction guys in mugen, my choices are bloody roar, star wars (common those movies are epic), and... the guy from 300

I used to pick-up what ever looked good and played well, but I ended up with about 2000 characters and nowhere to put them. Now I collect Kula and her edits and my current Mugen has Capcom, Marvel, and DC. I still have my old Mugen archived. It more or less sits there wasting 4 gigs (compressed) of hard drive space, now. One day I'll probably make a joke-mugen that has nothing but Kula Klones.

"Looks Good" and "Play's Well" covers a lot of ground. No wonder you had so many. If I got every character that "looked good" and "played well" I'd have a Mugen that would weigh over 10 GB myself.

Me, as I said, I like it or I don't. It's not so black and white, though.

It's really a matter of self control and knowing if something is of your tastes.

I'm pretty sure Warusaki3 has some well made character. Doesn't mean I like them. I only have his Yoko.

It's not whether or not it needs more cowbell, but whether or not you even like that particular cowbell in the first place. Maybe you want another cowbell.

Well, you probably don't want to know how big my MUGEN folder is, then. 

I do pretty much download whatever looks interesting - I just doesn't all go in the select.def.

I like having a big pool of characters and stages to draw from, so whenever I get tired of something I can change up with minimal effort. I pretty much keep everything, even if I don't like it, mainly because I like filling requests. Besides, I've got over 400GB of free space and a fast connection, so why the hell not? I'd just be downloading porn otherwise....

95% of the time if the character isn't in my roster I delete them. Not because of space restraints, but because it's a waste of space to me.

I'm not alone to agree with this.

Even though I like stuff from Nintendo, Capcom, and others, I like other stages and characters from different games, Universes, and so on, that catches my eye and interests me.

To help you out with an example to make this topic's title even better, try 'What kind of Characters and Stages that interest you?" or something like this. It makes for great variety and it isn't restricted to only one game series and such.
