how do you make hidden unplayable chars like on the SMVC:EOH?!

For boss and hidden characters set up the select screen so that the boss fighter is not reachable

e.g.

x=char
o=empty space

xxxxxxxxo
xxxxxxxxo
xxxxxxxxo
ooooooox
              ^ boss char here
As you can see it will be impossible for the player to move to that space.
You would also want it to be off the screen too.
